Whenever a goalkeeper comes galloping out of his box surely as a professional referee you should be tuned in to the possibility of a hand ball? The refs positioning was good, he was right there, looking straight at it, and should have been watching intently for a handball. How he has missed it is literally unbelievable. It's a frightening level of incompetence at best, hopefully it's nothing more sinister but when it's that obvious you do have to wonder.

I'm finally with you on something there. It's up to decisions like that where I just cannot defend the referee. He's not missed that. Absolutely no chance. He's failed to apply the rules. It's just a good job it wasn't costly.

He may be tall, but it raises questions over his speed, shot awareness and reflexes.

I can't see the benefit of a goalkeeper above the height of 6' 7'', unless your name is Zeljko Kalac.

Ask the Moralising Mirror - they need their self-importance boosting.  Surely if the goalkeeper deliberately handled the ball he should have acknowledged his misdemeanour and walked off voluntarily. A bit like golfers taking a penalty when they double hit!

It wasn't "ball to hand"

He had both hands purposely in near his groin and his arms were narrow to help control the ball.

It was hand ball and should have been a red card.

It's that simple.
