Matt Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Hmmm tough call, he chest's it then it rolls down to his arms/hands. The fact he put his hands out as if to catch it and the ball rolled down to his hands is surely hand ball though. It was ball to hand but at the same time he put himself in that situation.
Guest ttfn Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 I thought he was their best player apart from the brain fart.
The Doctor Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Replay shows him chest it into his hands but doesn't hold it - still, handball, had to be a red
RedSoxUK Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Intent to catch the ball out of the area, realised he was about 5 yards out, it hit his arm and forearm by his hand which is hand ball respectively. Should have been a definite free-kick and a yellow card at least IMO.
Larry_LCFC Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 That is so blatant His intention was to catch it and realised he had fvcked up. Hands were not in a natural position. Handball all day long!
ScouseFox Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 I thought he was their best player apart from the brain fart. yeah but I was their second best player so it's not much to brag aba
Jattdogg Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 yeah but I was their second best player so it's not much to brag aba My brother just sent me a clip from Motd. Clear handball, clear red. But ultimately we won so dont feel so annoyed about it
ScouseFox Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 My brother just sent me a clip from Motd. Clear handball, clear red. But ultimately we won so dont feel so annoyed about it that wasn't me mate that was pantilimon
EGBFitness Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Just watched it again on Game of the Day. From replays I would probably say it didn't hit his forearms, it looks like it's hit his chest and then thighs but for a keeper to come so far outside the box in the situation he was in and leaving his arms in the position they was in I think he should of gone as from first viewing in real time you'd assume hands was used. He was lucky not to go but think this was solely down to some poor refereeing decisions today. I hope the standard of officials improve this year. But then this looks like handball and goes again most of what I've just posted lol
Steven Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 So,if he did handball it outside the box ,how is it a penalty? Think about your statement mate I have fallen off the wagon and had a few beers.
pleatout Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 I was going to get on my high horse about all the comments regarding "intent" & "natural position" and all the other media nonsense. Law 12 states "handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)", that's it. nothing else. However, one look at the picture above - hmmmmm, that defines deliberate. The position of the lines means he is more than 1.5 yards outside the penalty area. Nevermind, I'd sooner a howler today when it didn't matter than on another day when it does.
PAULCFC Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 I have fallen off the wagon and had a few beers. Me too
Jattdogg Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 HANDBALLLLLLLSays it all. Dirty cheat pantilimon! Haha
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 At the time I thought he might have avoided it hitting his arms but watching it back, definite red card.
rico Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Should Wes have been given a red for his push on Fletcher?
The Doctor Posted 8 August 2015 Posted 8 August 2015 Should Wes have been given a red for his push on Fletcher? Potentially, you could argue he'd won the ball with the header and tangled after, or that it wasn't really a goalscoring opportunity because the ball was gone and schmeichel would have got there first, but you'd have wanted it if it was against us.
shen Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Should Wes have been given a red for his push on Fletcher?Having seen the replay, it looks like Fletcher goes down much too easily. At the time I thought Morgan was a very lucky man, but now I think the ref made a very good call
Weller in Tights Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 I would love the referees review panel to come out and explain how that isn't hand ball and therefore why the F**k he wasn't sent off. Deliberate hand ball is a yellow card offence, but it could be argued that he stopped a goal scoring opportunity. Could one of you tech savvy youngsters find the e-mail address for the Premiership refs review panel and send it to them with an appropriately abusive e-mail please.
Foxhateram Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Does you stepdad happen to say HAWAAAAAYYYYY in every sentence by any chance? Where were you sat Larry?
smudger63 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Of course it was handball. Clear as day, he should have been sent off. As should Jack Rodwell!
dmayne7 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 It hit his arm but I think it was more ball to hand then hand ball. Definite handball and red card. You're right in that it bounced onto his arm but he went to catch it in the first place so it was deliberate in my eyes. Still, Morgan could've gone earlier and we had the game in the bag so no fuss.
SomalianFox15 Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 Surely either the referee or the linesman would have seen this. I can understand the odd incorrect offside decision or a 50/50 foul but not somethingas blatant as this.
