Countryfox Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 If you, like me, sometimes lose track of the boxing scene when it gets a little stale or boring ... or there aren't good Brits around ... nows the time to have another look. Anthony Joshua is quite brilliant ... I've watched his last few fights and he reminds me of the "greatest" himself in many ways. He is unbeaten in his 14 professional fights with every one being won by a knockout. His next fight is against Dillian Whyte later this year, a man who beat him as an amateur, and it should be a good one.... make sure you watch it. I predict great things ... anyone else agree/disagree ?
MPH Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 He's covered in the boxing thread but no harm in giving him his own thread.... Yes he is quite brilliant.... I remember listening to an interview with Tyson Fury who Sparred with Joshua when Joshua was an amateur.... He said he thought he'd go easy on him as he's only a kid and an amateur But he admitted that Joshua gave him a right pasting! But the old addage remains... he needs to start fighting better opposition to really be considered world class as anyone with an ounce of power can beat up mercenaries.... I remember How David Price started and i was quite impressed with him...
CharlieCharles Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 Hes got massive potential, but as mentioned is yet to fight anyone "big". His last opponent is a joiner and had to take 6 months off work to prepare.

Ashley Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 Hope Joshua v Fury happens I really do. Joshua will give him a pasting. Joshua has so much power and speed!
Countryfox Posted 29 September 2015 Author Posted 29 September 2015 Yes, I know he hasn't fought top quality opposition but he surely will soon and I'm sure prove how good he is... He has a natural talent and an easy style that is exciting to watch. At 6'6" he is up there with the "big" boys and has a punch that does damage.... And they don't see it coming ! I really think he will become a legend and I hope more people start to watch now and so enjoy his rise to fame .... Hence the thread.
Guest MattP Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 He has all the tools, no doubt about that. Still have to see him get hit though before we can see how good he is, we've seen this before with David Price smashing through everyone before stepping up.
Guest NGoloMode Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 Be interesting when someone tests his chin. Don't think I've seen someone land a decent shot on him yet apart from Gary Cornish but he's not very powerful is he..
MPH Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 Be interesting when someone tests his chin. Don't think I've seen someone land a decent shot on him yet apart from Gary Cornish but he's not very powerful is he.. It'll only make him mad....
Grandad. Posted 29 September 2015 Posted 29 September 2015 I don't think he will ever lose and never go 12 rounds, unreal talent and will only get better and better.
Durnerz Posted 30 September 2015 Posted 30 September 2015 Looks a quality talent but like most have said he's not faught anyone of high class yet. The speed he's got though and the build of him suggests that he's going to freshen up the division.
Nick Posted 30 September 2015 Posted 30 September 2015 He's had the right fights, no doubt but I would put my mortgage on it that he'll have multiple world title belts within 5 years.
(.) (.) Posted 30 September 2015 Posted 30 September 2015 A great champion needs great battles to make a legacy. Until he fights better opponents he won't build the reputation he deserves.
MPH Posted 30 September 2015 Posted 30 September 2015 I don't think he will ever lose and never go 12 rounds, unreal talent and will only get better and better. People Said that about Mike Tyson.
MPH Posted 30 September 2015 Posted 30 September 2015 His manager DID say, however, that they are having to pay people ridiculous amounts of money to fight him as no one really wants to....
