Video: Rise Of The Foxes

It won't be owned by the FA, it'll be owned by the Premier League. My earlier point was that this might be part of the PL's audio/visual rules that if the club spot any copyright infringment they take it down to help protect the content of the league they're part of.

I don't think they're worried about worldwide exposure, either. Being beamed to many countries across the world, taking part in the most popular professionall football league on the planet and the awareness around the world based on the players we currently possess will do enough of that, not a few fan-made YouTube videos!

Want to know where the un-professionalism comes into play? The fact that it wasn't the Club as a whole, nor was it the Club's YouTube channel or any of it's identity attached to the claim for the take down, rather it was a single person act by the 'manager' at the Media department of the Club who cannot even spell "Leicester City Football Club" properly, but spelling it as "Leicester City Football CLub"and using his own private email to close the video down rather than using the email provided by the Club that everyone at the club is given with "@@lcfc.com" or whatever it may be.

This video will go back up one way or another, i've made a claim to YouTube, so i'm pretty confident we'll see it back up soon.

Just re-upload it somewhere else for the time being. Or will that not get enough views for you?

The fact that you are moaning about it so much tells me that you were hoping for a popularity boost on the back of our success.

Maybe you should contact the club about this and the reasons rather than looking for sympathy here.

He has already said he is trying to get him name out there in an industry that is ridiculously hard to get into, cant help but admire his effort and feel his frustration.

When you send through a folio to an employer, they would much rather see 'YouTube' attached to it, as opposed to Vimeo or whatever else. One video link looks better than having two. For all they know it could've been someone else's video i've taken and just added my youtube channel and twitter handle. See the problem here?

George, nobody thinks you've been hard done by more than me. It was a cracking video and one i'm sure all Leicester supporters would enjoy.

But, you're using the image of Leicester City to promote your channel and i'm afraid that it's illegal to use that image to your own profit (i'm not talking about money). Call it petty, as I do, but it doesn't make it right.

Carry on with your work because i'm sure I speak for the majority of us when I say I look forward to your next piece. But my advice would be to seak consent before you use material you do not own :)

Thanks AKCJ, i appreciate the kind words! It's one of those things that's hard to wrap your head around and a bit bitter at the time, no doubt i will get over it very soon (as early as the morning) and i'll move on, no doubt about it! But it's a bit hard knowing the Club's done it, the one you invest money and time into, as opposed to the one's that actually own the content themselves.

The sun comes up, new day.

Foxes never quit.

I've been a fan of your video work George, however...

The club has a duty of care to the Premier League and rights holders (who pay billions) so LCFC (or any club) have a legal obligation to get it removed, however innocent the intentions of the person who uploaded it.

The footage obviously has a significant value to it. And if one fan is allowed to do it, why can't another, or another, or another... you get the idea.

I appreciate it's made you angry and frustrated but the club doesn't have a lot of option.

Just spoken to someone in the game who has let it be known that PL clubs are being "leant on" a lot more these days to monitor these things. I don't think LCFC are being particularly heavy handed, they're just doing what they're being told to do.

I guess one thing you could be grateful for is that, if it's true that the footage is copyright, you've not sumbitted it as part of a portfolio to employers. That wouldn't look too good.

Missed this vid.... Question though for George ... Did you use stuff that was the public domain for the video ? If so I'm sure l that they can't stop you using it ... If you took stuff from foxes player or subscription only media then they can pull it. However, as someone that works in marketing I would be more than happy (and it does happen) for customers (supporters) to use our products (LCFC) in a positive way for their own ends it all helps spread the word.

Social media is based on likes shares retweets blogs vlogs to spread the word so imo it's not good practice to pull 'fanart'. You should contact the marcoms dept. And ask why they pulled it - offer to remove the offending part and get it back on line.

Good job, but you'll always have the league or the club breathing down your back with regards to the image rights.

The ending felt a bit abrupt - maybe you could implement some kind of a more fitting and prolonged fade out with rapidly intercut video or photo snippets to add one last bit of tension before letting it fade to black.

You're not wrong. They've taken this one down too. Something tells me they circle this forum

Sorry to be 'flogging a dead horse' as such, LCFC have taken down a further two video's from my account, three in total. I sit on two strikes, one more and my YouTube account will get pulled.

It's sad to see a Club that you love do this to you considering not even 5% of the videos on there are LCFC.
