Guest Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Could be worse. You could have no job and be unemployable.
Mike Oxlong Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Can't wait to get back to the norm Who is Norm?
lianne81 Posted 4 January 2016 Posted 4 January 2016 Me too. I've had a great three weeks off but the kids are doing my tits in now. Can't wait for them to go back to school so I can get back into serious, adult, business conversations again. For those who hate their jobs, you have free will and you only live once. If you can truly find something that gets you out of bed in the morning, pays the bills, makes you happy and feel like you're making a difference, it won't feel like 'work'. I believe we're all put on this planet for a reason. So find your passion and what really makes you come alive. Agreed kids doing my head in ! x Also agree with find a job you have passion for . I used to own my own pub up North and really loved it. I did not see it as a job but a way off life and meeting new and interesting people everyday. Due to circumstances out my control i had to make a choice full time mum or work full time , my kids needed me so i moved back down South but am now working towards something else that i will enjoy xx
Thracian Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 I don't understand people where jobs are concerned. If you don't enjoy your work, quit. If you don't want to work your hardest for someone else, work for yourself. And if you can't/daren't work for yourself stop moaning about working for someone else and do your best. Because, if you can't, you're no use to anyone and are just making life harder for everyone else and therefore becoming part of the problems.

Maybe they have bills to pay and kids to feed and can't just quit?
Bayfox Posted 7 January 2016 Posted 7 January 2016 Maybe they are trying their best? Maybe they have bills to pay and kids to feed and can't just quit? Yep, and I work for myself, I work hard and still at times hate my job, customers can be hard to please, can be leant on by other suppliers and companies trying to poach work, shit goes wrong, as well as worrying about yourself, you have employees to worry about. I'd love to quit my work sometimes, but would get taxed to the hilt on what was left, have to start again or find a job, whilst my work continues to feed the kids and pay the bills, I guess I'm stuck with it. What would solve it, some water tight contracts that mean customers can't shop elsewhere, Bit like a football club!! Or the lottery. Couple of million should see me right.
EverybodyDannsNow Posted 9 January 2016 Posted 9 January 2016 I'm in my final year of a media and film degree. Need to think about applying for jobs soon. Does anyone else work in the media industry and have any advice?
