Guest MattP Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Assume the old thread is in GC so started a new one, we now appear to have complete proof that these activists where in collusion with the local police force along with the council, very sad and I hope the full weight of the law lands down on these people. IPCC has begun 55 investigations against 92 officers. http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/news/uk/crime/article4698955.ece Corrupt police and an influential politician fuelled a culture of impunity that allowed three brothers to “own” the town of Rotherham and abuse children until their crimes were exposed by The Times. One officer had sex with under-age girls, passed drugs to the sex-grooming gang and tipped them off when colleagues were searching for missing children, a court was told. Another helped to broker a deal in which one brother returned an abused girl to police after receiving an assurance that he “wouldn’t get done”. The jury was told that Jahangir Akhtar, the former deputy leader of Rotherham council, also took part in the handover at a petrol station. Mr Akhtar, the former deputy chairman of South Yorkshire police and crime panel, was a relative of Arshid, Basharat and Bannaras Hussain, who behaved for years “like a pack of animals” to pursue dozens of young girls before demanding sex, often with threats of violence. As their trial ended yesterday, it was revealed that the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) had begun 55 investigations into alleged police misconduct linked to Rotherham child sex crimes. It has received complaints against 92 named officers. An investigation into all past sex grooming cases in the town, begun in June and led by the National Crime Agency, has identified more than 300 suspects and 9,000 lines of inquiry. Children lured into the Hussain brothers’ web of alcohol, drugs, guns and cars believed that the wealthy trio, known as Ash, Bash and Bono, were above the law. It was a perception aided by the wilful blindness of child protection authorities, Sheffield crown court was told. No criminal inquiry into the brothers’ offending was launched until The Times revealed in 2013 that police and social services held, but had failed to act on, detailed intelligence that Arshid Hussain was among a small group of men suspected of sexually exploiting more than 40 under-age girls. Less than two weeks later, Rotherham council commissioned an independent inquiry by Alexis Jay, a social services expert, which found that 1,400 girls in the South Yorkshire town were groomed and abused over 16 years. The offenders were “almost all” men of Pakistani heritage. In a two-month trial, 18 young women told the hidden story of Rotherham from the late 1980s to the early 2000s. The jury heard accounts of stolen childhoods and broken lives. More victims would have given evidence but on the eve of the trial Bannaras Hussain, 36, abandoned his not guilty pleas and admitted a series of rapes and indecent assaults against seven girls. His brothers, Arshid, 40, and Basharat, 39, were found guilty of 38 offences against 11 children including rapes, indecent assaults, buggery, child abduction and false imprisonment.

Captain... Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 So it wasn't a fear of being accused of racism that stopped them being investigated, but institutionalised abuse involving police and local politicians? Pretty grim either way.
Guest MattP Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 So it wasn't a fear of being accused of racism that stopped them being investigated, but institutionalised abuse involving police and local politicians? Pretty grim either way. I think the accusations of fear of racism were more aimed at the council refusing to act on the numerous reports and complaints they were getting from the public, with the police force it now looks even more sinister and many officers were actively involved. When all this has come out over the next 10/15 years I think it's a stain a lot of towns may never recover from.
Rincewind Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Shouldn't it read, Local Police And The Liebour Party Protect Rotherham Abusers. Only if you are a Tory.{) From a neutral POV it is a bit of a generalisation don't you think? But I assume you were joking.

It reads as though the local council were involved so it may have been an internal cover up. Those that came out saying it was a fear of being accused of racism were either part of the cover up, or were being instructed not to investigate for those reasons, by those involved.

MPH Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Shouldn't it read, Local Police And The Liebour Party Protect Rotherham Abusers. Can't blame a whole political party because of the sickening actions of one/two or even three politicians.... You'll find that there are probably sick individuals linked to every political party.
Claridge Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Labour and political correctness at work in your community. Lock up your kids if you have a labour council
Thracian Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Can't blame a whole political party because of the sickening actions of one/two or even three politicians.... You'll find that there are probably sick individuals linked to every political party. ! Why not blame the party? Political parties should take a lot more care about the people they appoint. Either that or disband the party for all they're worth - and start again with a more worthy organisation that will stand up for our people and some basic values.
Thracian Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 What a condemnation of a community. Yorkshire should divorce the place. I used to think the steel town of Rotherham was a bastion of strength - with the sort of people most likely to stand strong for British values. What the hell have they let happen there and why? They should start by demanding a extensive public enquiry and replacement of every councillor and officer involved in this sordid let-down. Then vote to get out of Europe so they can throw away the Human Rights legislation and shape the kind of country we'd want for our children.
Maybes Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Deary me. Doesn't surprise me that Yorkshire police are involved in another cover up.

Saxondale Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Beyond disgusting. I can't see anywhere near full justice being done. Sounds like they'd have to build a whole new prison just to accommodate all these alleged nonce cops and councillors.
Thracian Posted 25 February 2016 Posted 25 February 2016 Even hours later, I'm too livid to write about this. But it sure is time for change.
Rincewind Posted 26 February 2016 Posted 26 February 2016 I read somewhere that some market traders were also involved. I am never shopping on Leicester market again. Cannot trust them. Sorry I was just generalizing..
Guest MattP Posted 26 February 2016 Posted 26 February 2016 Because 18 kids just isn't enough. The leader of the Rotherham sex-grooming gang has asked about fertility treatment despite making several children pregnant and fathering up to 18 babies. Arshid Hussain’s wish to expand his family was disclosed in court as he tried to avoid justice for a brutal decade-long campaign of sexual abuse against young teenagers. Many of his victims had abortions. Hussain, 40, with his brothers Basharat, 39, and Bannaras, 36, will be sentenced today for almost 50 offences against 14 girls in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, including multiple rapes and indecent assaults, buggery, abduction and false imprisonment. The criminal inquiry that led to their prosecution was launched in August 2013 after The Times revealed that police and social services held detailed intelligence of the elder brother’s offending from the late 1990s to 2003 but had failed to act on it. Hussain, who was said in court to have dealt drugs and owned guns, became paraplegic in 2005 when he was shot in the abdomen. He is believed to have recently been seeking to start a new family. A consultant psychiatrist brought in to assess whether Hussain was fit to stand trial noted that he had “made inquiries into the feasibility of fertility treatment”. Whether he was seeking such expensive medical assistance on the NHS was not disclosed. The psychiatrist was asked to examine him after medical experts for the defence claimed that he was in severe pain, that his medication caused an inability to maintain concentration and that “standing trial would have a deteriorating impact upon his mental health”. Sources close to the case were convinced that the serial child abuser was “playing games” with the court. Hussain was examined for an hour by the psychiatrist, who concluded that he was alert and “able to concentrate well”, adding that he might have been “exaggerating his condition in the light of his current predicament, ie, facing multiple serious charges”. Judge Sarah Wright rejected the defence team’s argument and made a similar ruling halfway through his trial at Sheffield crown court when it was claimed that the jury should be discharged because Hussain was too unwell to give meaningful evidence. The judge noted that the defendant was “clearly well enough to contemplate the prospect of family life with a baby”. The Times understands that in the years when he destroyed the lives of teenagers in Rotherham, Hussain fathered at least 11 children. During the trial, a witness who was 14 when she was made pregnant by him in the late 1990s said that Bannaras Hussain advised her to have a termination because his brother already had seven children by different English girls and did not even know their names. It is not known whether the claim was true, nor whether any or all of those seven babies were among the 11 children identified by The Times. Throughout the two-month trial, unusual and costly measures were adopted at public expense to make allowances for Hussain’s physical condition. Unlike his co-defendants he was not required to attend court. Instead, a live video link was installed at his home to enable him to follow the proceedings from his bed. Enquiries have established that the video link cost £100 an hour. A member of his defence team was also paid £300 a day to sit in the bedroom with him. When Hussain’s defence began, it was unexpectedly announced that he intended to give evidence in person. To ease his discomfort and at a cost of an additional £1,000, a Red Cross hospital bed was delivered and installed in the court building. The intention was for him to have a sleep before appearing in court. Hussain arrived and lay on the bed for an hour. When he woke, he decided that he no longer wished to give evidence. Wheeled briefly into court for the reading of his defence statement, Hussain seemed half-asleep. It was a performance repeated from his bed on Wednesday this week when the jury found him guilty of 23 sex offences. After the verdicts, Judge Wright revoked Hussain’s bail and ordered that he should be taken into custody. Before police reached the house, his family called for an ambulance and he was taken to hospital. In the evening the hospital decided he was fit for release and at 9.30pm he was taken to prison. Hussain will not appear in person at today’s sentencing. Also due to be sentenced for sex offences are the Hussain brothers’ uncle, Qurban Ali, 53, and two white British women, Karen MacGregor, 59, and Shelley Davies, 40.
Thracian Posted 26 February 2016 Posted 26 February 2016 I read somewhere that some market traders were also involved. I am never shopping on Leicester market again. Cannot trust them. Sorry I was just generalizing.. a) You didn't read anything and it is utterly scurrilous to pretend you did even flippantly. and, b) What a subject to joke about. It's a sure sign you don't have kids. Never mind being deflective. What do you think of the party you so revere in Rotherham? Surely you of all people could find some excuses from somewhere. Cos I can't. To me it only illustrates the extent to which the Labour Party has changed beyond recognition. Clearly some members and far too many voters don't give a toss about the welfare of vulnerable young people - or at least certain sections of the vulnerable young community. Quite the opposite of what I believe the party was meant to serve in helping those too weak, in various ways, to help themselves. And where are the mighty trades unions - the party's unofficial but controlling muscle - who talk tough but seemingly not tough enough to stand for anything in all this? Have their members and officials not got kids? Or is this the sort of representation they'll accept if it gives them power? It's beyond pathetic. This country needs a new Labour movement - by invitation only. Because right now it's once decent values are being wickedly compromised.
James. Posted 26 February 2016 Posted 26 February 2016 Hopefully they will have an absolutely torrid time in prison.

Sorry I was just generalizing.. I know it was 1.27am and you were probably pissed but what the hell is this? For someone who claims to care so much about the vulnerable it really is strange how you have consistently treated the victims of these cases with total distain and almost mocked anyone who has had genuine concerns over them.
Nick Posted 27 February 2016 Posted 27 February 2016 So another thread gone the same way being used as a vehicle to blame or associate the Labour Party with everything that's wrong in the world. I've just come to the inevitable conclusion that perhaps certain posters on here don't have an agenda - maybe it's just that they really are that daft. Every thread is the same rubbish and the same rhetoric. If posters really are interested in what happened and what's been done and changed - try going to the NSPCC website and reading the Serious Case Review. Its a good starting point to learn about how to address safeguarding issues in a changing world. Alternatively, just arbitrarily blame whatever movement/agency/culture you fancy pinning the label on.

I was torn into for suggesting that there was a little generalising going on. I do not wish to label evil bastards by associating them with groups they can be proud of. Terrorists are not Muslims they are evil murdering bastards no more no less. Calling the Muslim makes them look like martyrs doing it for a cause. I dislike religion more than the people that practice it not so much for the bad things but how illogical it is and the brainwashing because of it.
