Jace Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Correct me if i'm wrong but, if our earnings were 104 million and we have to pay tax on that at something like 40% which is about £40million, this £26million pre-tax profit will end up being a loss of £13million I think you need a new accountant mate
Len Finsbury Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 It seems like it's good news coming from every direction. As already mentioned. Susan Whelan said at the beginning of the season that we should trust them. It became a big issue on here, if I remember right too. Well Susan, you were right for us to trust you.
WesMorganGod Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 great stuff, the past 18 months have been argubly the biggest in our history.
Eastwellfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I'm sure he means the creditors that lost money when we went into administration a lot of whom were small local companies. This is exactly what I mean
Babylon Posted 3 March 2016 Author Posted 3 March 2016 Just wondered. what we think and what they do might be two different things. after all, they converted their 100 mill loans into shares so unless they take divis, they will not get any of it back directly. the king power promotional stuff should be paid for by KP at above the market rate to help with FFP (in whatever shape it now exists) as we are in Europe next year and must meet the requirements. I suspect they can take dividends without upsetting the FFP rules. We're still paying out £1.6m each year to them in interest for them purchasing the stadium... they could tick that along for some time and end up making a nice tidy profit.
Finnaldo Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Good point... I retract my previous statement. If we get lucky and China want them, then we'll get £40m for the lot.... they will love buying "2015/2016 Premier league winners" Do King Power have a shop at Beijing Airport? We could flog Hammond off in the shop window as an authentic English footballer
Wymsey Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Would someone confirm whether members of the consortium during Administration get a share of what they gave to the club back?
Jon the Hat Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Oh. So if you don't make any profit, you don't pay any tax. Correct. Also if you made losses in previous years (quite likely I would say without checking) you can roll those forward and offset against the profits you make in the current year, so you can make a profit this year and still not pay any tax on it if you made it because you spent a lot last year on players or the stadium etc.
Guest ttfn Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Would someone confirm whether members of the consortium during Administration get a share of what they gave to the club back? No.
Corky Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Would someone confirm whether members of the consortium during Administration get a share of what they gave to the club back? Why did I read as though it was being asked on Question Time?
Jace Posted 4 March 2016 Posted 4 March 2016 Imagine how much the club is worth now since the owners took over, how much were we bought for £40 million? Considering our revenue next season due to our league position, Champions League football, ownership of the stadium, value of players like Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, Kante the profit the club is now making plus our overseas fan base I would have thought we would be valued between £150 and 200 million now?
Footballwipe Posted 8 March 2016 Posted 8 March 2016 So match receipts accounted for just 10.2% of overall income (22% last year), and was even dwarfed by the "sponsorship, exec suites, advertising and other income" at £16m to £10.5m (I know this was the same as last season but that included Trellestar didn't it?) I imagine the advertising boards are collecting a fair amount more this season with our success, and with the inevitable increase in prize money the % of income this season attributed to match receipts will almost certainly be in the single figures. The highest paid director (assuming Susan Whelan) is also only up £12k to £145k a year. Thought the Premier League would result in a bump in director's pay as well!

There must come a point where unless you're young and flash, like say... a PL footballer, there's only so much money you can spend. If I was earning £100k a year, a pay rise of another £10k wouldn't really make a difference but if I was earning £20k and was offered £10k more...
