Babylon Posted 3 March 2016 Author Posted 3 March 2016 If we play Champions league then next season our profits should be unreal, unless we piss money away It will only be a basic 12m I think, you get money per point you get... rather than everyone getting a fair share. A top premier league finish with 16 games shown would mean we received £92,814,970m in premier league prize money, with £12m champions league money. That's basic.... extra from sponsorship and so on that comes with being league winners will add on more. So an extra £33,206,730m on top of this seasons. You could look at there being an easy £40-£50m minimum (if the club wanted to) war chest come the end of the season, as the new deal would pay for contracts for new players comfortably.

You could look at there being an easy £40-£50m minimum (if the club wanted to) war chest come the end of the season, as the new deal would pay for contracts for new players comfortably. The basic is 12m Euros but that doesn't factor in the "market pool" for TV, which for England will be based on where you finished the previous season and your performances. So last season Man City earnt 30m Euros to Arsenal's 17m Euros because they won the 13-14 title. If we won the title and bombed out with six losses in the UCL you'd still be looking at about £40m basic from that 12m and subsequent TV pool. So in 2014-15 Liverpool earnt 33m Euros despite not getting out of the group stage. With the increase in the pot we're looking at about £35m minimum for making the UCL in top or second spot. Also worth noting that if fourth place didn't get through to the group stages the pot for England is split three ways instead of four. For example Juventus were awarded nearly 60m in the market pool because only two Italian teams made it to the UCL group stages (granted they did get to the final which inflated that, but as a comparison Barcelona's market pool was 24m.)
irishfoxkev Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 great result..we could buy 66 Riyads with that However could very easily be eaten away for example by looking after and keeping key members of the playing and backroom staff...If the stories of Vardys new contract that it doubled from 40k per week to 80k that's an extra annual cost of over 2 mio for one player...I would think there are a lot of others in the current squad that will be offered similar deals to keep them here ie Drinky, Mahrez,Kante,etc.....I recall a thread around the time Nige was sacked and Claudio appointed where Susan Whelan appealed to fans to trust them....The results on and off the pitch this year should mean there is no doubt that this trust gets stroger and stronger

Crikey.... that £12m I thought we'd get extra is suddenly looking potentially like £40/50/60m...
Jace Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 This bit says it all really Total revenue in the 2014/15 season was more than £104 million – more than treble the £31 million the club turned over the previous year. If the club does achieve the unimaginable and win the Premier League it will pocket around £100 million. Dan Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 It's Football Manager-like stuff. Imagine what we could do with £40mil odd to spend on players? I'd actually back us to build a squad that could compete in multiple tournaments, we've got the track record of spending well.
ThaiFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Amazing. Pretty conclusive proof for those arguing for a ticket price increase that they are talking out their arse as well: Attendances grew from 25,003 to 31,693, leading to match receipts growing from £6.9m in 2014 to £10.6m. So despite a 27% increase in attendances, gate receipts have contributed a paltry 5% of the £73.2m increase in revenue. I know we sell out the KP for almost every P/L match, but the 5% revenue in gate receipts just shows why all clubs should keep ticket prices to almost a give away price. It just makes no sense to have empty seats at matches, so why not have a token £5 ticket price throughout the P/L? This would ensure full P/L grounds at every match. The clubs would also gain extra money from merchandising, food, drinks and programmes. All clubs should remember that fans are the lifeblood of the game and without them they have no product. But greed will always come first, so I expect ticket prices to rise and to continue to be unrealistic for a huge majority of people.

I'd actually back us to build a squad that could compete in multiple tournaments, we've got the track record of spending well. After what footballwipe said, it's actually conceivable the club could have anything from £40-70m to spend (again, if they wanted). I don't think we will... but we're going to be getting in some serious quality.
shen Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I wonder what our profit will be at the end of this financial year and the next one. Granted, wages will rise even more (already rose £20m over the last year !!), but our wages will still be significantly lower than the top 6 in this country I'd imagine.

Kramaric, Inler, De Laet, Hamer, Benalouane and Lawrence possibly, could all be sold for 20M+ in total.. Easily.

Kramaric, Inler, De Laet, Hamer, Benalouane possibly and Lawrence possibly, could all be sold for 20M+ in total.. Easily. We'd be lucky to get £10m, but point taken!... if they wanted to spend some of the next seasons cash as well you could conceivably be looking at £80-£100m.... ha. They won't do that, far too sensible, but it just shows what it would mean for the club for us to finish in the champs league spots, let alone first.

I don't think we will... but we're going to be getting in some serious quality. Musa & Dragovic I'd imagine. We always seem to sign players we were linked with one window in the following one. We have it all in place to sustain ourselves around the top for me. We also appreciate why you can't throw money away, the others around the top don't seem to. We can't match them for finances but we've got a lot of other qualities about us that are under-appreciated by the majority in this "you can't compete with them because they spent £100mil" culture.
RoboFox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 ...And yet occasionally some people still have the brass neck to question how the club is run at the top.
Guest ttfn Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 ...And yet occasionally some people still have the brass neck to question how the club is run at the top. To be fair if we didn't make a profit after supposedly implementing a wage cap, only spending £10m on players in the summer and another £10m in January (the cost of which is spread over the length of the player's contract for accounting purposes) then it would have been a colossal balls up.
Master Fox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We're going to be unstoppable soon. This is how you run a football club. Brilliant
Eastwellfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 I would like to see the club attempt to settle some out the debt left to local businesses at the time when we went into administration. Now the ball is on the other foot this would be a brilliant gesture. Or is this too simplistic?.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Under weaknesses you've put eczema ...on my feet. Edit: was looking for the video for this, never realised that the "on my feet" never made the final cut as they kept laughing - I've seen that outtake so many times, the "on my feet" bit is my favourite part
Wymsey Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Should spend a bit of the cash to improve customer service in general and more better quality food.
Woof Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 We've been shown seven times so far this season, with seven more games to come, plus potentially the last two. Last season we were live eight times all season I was looking at this the other day as I thought we would be due a massive increase in TV money this year. You get £875,000 per game shown and are paid for a minimum of 10 games, regardless of how many are actually shown, so in fact we will only get paid for an extra 4, or possibly 5 this year, which works out at £3.5m or maybe £4.4m extra. Still, every little helps
C-man Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Under weaknesses you've put eczema Yeah but what are options again?
Richmondfox Posted 3 March 2016 Posted 3 March 2016 Did the accounts show if any dividend was taken?? I doubt they would be thinking to take a dividend. If they did it would be deserved but I'm sure the level of promotion that the King Power brand has received this season would have cost more than they would take in a dividend. When this seasons reports are announced next year they will be even higher due to the extra revenue for televised games and higher final league postion. The season after even more if/when we have champions league football. The money from Aprils TV games will go a long way to covering improved contracts for our players.

Assuming a ~50% "depreciation" for the more recent transfers: Kram: 5m Inler: 3m Benalouane: 5m And there's obviously going to be a market in the Championship for these sorts of players: De Laet: 2m Hamer: minimal Lawrence: 3m That's ~15M right there, and I think I'm being reasonably conservative. Get rid of the dead weight and there's one good player!
