Where to watch in New York city?

Recommended Posts

I've watched 2 games this season in the Football Factory during trips to NYC, both times it was fantastic. New York Foxes are a top crowd.

Gotta be the Football Factory with the NY Foxes.

I walked past it on Tuesday morning and found myself with a big cheesy grin when reminded of what we are doing this season.  :D

Gonna try to get back to NY for at least one more game before the end of the season and that's always the place I will head to.  :scarf:

This. Not been myself, but Jason was over for the liverpool and man city games, top bloke, there's a good crowd that go in for all games, so you certainly won't be alone.

try @The_77 if you want info, that's Jason's user name on here, sure he would be more than happy to help.

I'm going to be in New York (Murray Hill) for the match against Southampton on Sunday 3rd April.

Any ideas where I can watch the game given it's a 8:30am kickoff there?

Cheers Jez

See you at The Football Factory, haha!

It's right across the street from the Empire State Building-- you can walk there from Murray Hill.

Send me a note if you need anything or are looking for any suggestions for your trip.

Out of interest Jason, why are you a Leicester fan?

What's the reason for fans in NYC? Kasey Keller? Expats? Glory Hunters!?

I was looking to pick a team this year and my favorite animals are foxes that are in first place... :P

I'm a native New Yorker and my twin brother (Jordan on FT) got me into City back in '98 when Keller was in goal-- Fox had started showing a weekly Premier League wrap up (sorta like MOTD) with extended highlights of one game, and we would watch every week.

The NYC group is fairly mixed in terms of why we follow Leicester-- we have some expats, usually folks here on holiday who watch with us, and some Americans. One guy had a roommate back in the day from Leicester who got him into City, another guy came on board last season because his friends are Toffees and Leicester played Everton to start the season. We have a guy who traced his ancestry back to Leicester from hundreds years ago, so he became a fan back in the League One days!

I will say that people really love the club's story over here (just like everywhere else), and most people who follow the Premier League are pulling for Leicester to finish the job. I have no doubt that there are glory hunters who've recently adopted Leicester City as their club but I hope they begin to care more deeply about the club as they learn about the club's story, meet other fans, and see how much of a family Leicester City is. We certainly like to have a good time when we meet up at The Factory, so I hope we're helping on that front.

Definitely FF

Its a great atmosphere and 15 minutes walk from Murray Hill.

We were at both in February and despite the loss it was a great place to support the Foxes.

We are pretty much the loudest group at FF on Saturday mornings

Well, okay other than the Paris fans but they have "performance enhancers."

Assholes bringing drums and megaphones as if none of us have hangovers, haha.

Rudy's Bar might be showing it... It opens at 6am I think. You get a free hotdog with every beer you buy as well!

I heard that the hot dogs were recently upgraded, haha. Rudy's is certainly an experience (and a testament to the power of red duct tape).

Is Football Factory in the bar that was called Foleys The_77, it had loads of baseball memorabilia all over it....

Sorry, thought I relied to this.

They're very, very close to each other. The Football Factory is actually in Legends Bar.

Foley's should definitely be on the list for any baseball fan visiting NYC. That bar also famously banned the song "Danny Boy," which is one of the best things a bar has ever done.

I've been to NY several times and love the bars (no proper pubs left in Newquay) my favourite is Jimmys corner bar (Jimmy Glenn was Cassius Clays cut man) and it has the best boxing photo & poster collection I have seen. Will make sure I pop into Football Factory on my next trip which is hopefully around my Birthday in September....

Up the City....
