NeilLCFC Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 It's a strange one. If Claudio gets the Italian job next season a new manager might not want them here. Who knows? If that happens maybe Shakespeare should take over
Thracian Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Damn straight. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-NEWS-Steve-Walsh-Craig-Shakespeare/story-28898839-detail/story.htm "Stay where you're appreciated," would be my advice to both.
Thracian Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 It's a strange one. If Claudio gets the Italian job next season a new manager might not want them here. Who knows? a) Claudio's said he wants ours to be his last job - why would he chose to paint himself as a liar? b) If any potential new manager "might not want them", find an alternative manager. Life's not difficult. Why make it so?
foxes21 Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Really? Jesus Christ, this man is almost Jesus Christ. Here's the video of Ranieri talking about their contracts http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/teams/leicester-city/10199447/ranieri-transfer-talk-is-speculation
Countryfox Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Think Claudio said on sky they should get the same contract as him. Surely they cant turn that down! Does he mean the length of the contract ? ....
Webbo Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 a) Claudio's said he wants ours to be his last job - why would he chose to paint himself as a liar? Claudio's said a lot of things that have turned out to be untrue. If Italy does need a new manager next season he is the obvious choice.
Sionnach gorm Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 I've always wondered if it was Walsh that suggested Ranieri to the owners. It seems from old articles that Ranieri and Walsh worked very closely when they began to build Chelsea. If that is the case, then Walsh would want to stay here at Leicester and finish the project no matter who might call him up.
Countryfox Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Claudio's said a lot of things that have turned out to be untrue. If Italy does need a new manager next season he is the obvious choice. He's said a few little white lies Webbo that don't mean too much, or what he says is for the benefit of the club ... but when he tells the owners that he will be here for at least 3 years .. I think he means it.

Matt Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Right I've had a few and might be talking out my arse here but anyone think Shakespeare could be trained up to take the main role? Look I'm not saying I'd be over the moon at the thought, I'd prefer abit more experience. I'm not sure what direction we'll go in post Ranieri (my fear when he took over was how short his tenure will/would be, still is to an extent). But it is an option. Thing is from past experience and looking at other clubs it doesn't really work, but it is an option. Regardless of the bullshit I've just wrote as number 2's and scout they are as important as anyone at the club!
merlin1969 Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Karanka goes NP in ?? ... its Middlesbrough and they are 2nd with 2 games in hand, sure he would love to play us next season
Nickfosse Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Interesting that in a Sunday Times article today, Sir Alex Ferguson described Steve Walsh as "the most influential person in Premier League football". Quite an accolade, and further demonstration that it is absolutely imperative that we secure his services for the long term in my view.
