GaelicFox Posted 13 March 2016 Author Posted 13 March 2016 actually you'd need about 20 "football stadium" beers to match the alcohol content of a pint from the pub but i get where youre coming from Drink bottles
Voll Blau Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Really ? Feck off and take up train spotting He's probably right though isn't he?
GaelicFox Posted 13 March 2016 Author Posted 13 March 2016 He's probably right though isn't he? My brother in law follows villa home and away and this season he hasn't had so much as a cup of tea off them all season ! There are just some people who if they fell in a bucket of dicks and came up with a tit in thier mouth would then moan it wasn't a Fanny !!! He is a Fanny

Just explaining how these gestures actually come about. If you genuinely think the owners are personally responsible for every decent policy decision made by this football club, you're a bit deluded frankly. If these kind of gestures carry on next season when the ASI is used to fund the away ticket cap, then fair play to them.
Hubert Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 For the record, I think our owners are fantastic. They have completely transformed the club and I can't think of owners, including Sheikh Mansour and Roman Abramovich, that I would rather have in charge of the club. Was just pointing out where the money for these things, including the subsidised coach travel to away games, comes from. If they carry it on next season when they aren't receiving £250k for it then all the better.
Matt Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 That or it's how the club spend their £250,000 per season Away Supporters Initiative money. I'd be very surprised if the club actually funds these giveaways. As Hubert said, it's likely/almost certain that the money for this has come from the Away Supporters Initiative. And let's be honest, if that's true...it's actually a bit disingenuous to present the giveaway in this fashion. Presumably though part of the deal with the ASI was that the clubs wouldn't have to specify where the money comes from, so they could present the giveaways as their own PR coups. In fact, whilst we're on the subject, does the club actually publish a breakdown of how the ASI money is spent? I know a Hull City supporters' group called on their club last year to publish the breakdown - did anything come of this? http://hullcitysupporterstrust.com/asifmoneygone/ So can this away supporters intiative be spent however they wish - Even for home games? If not we've had plenty of beer for free at home (Ok, it'd be a deal with Singha but even so, they'd have had to pay in the long run somewhere), Vardy Crisps, what about the pin badges they gave out in our promotion season, flags when we were promoted, then whether you agree with them or not the clappers they cost a fair bit per game/when you add them up.
Jordan Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Top and his family are so good to the fans that I think it would be nice to have a whip round to buy them a gift or something like that
Wymsey Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Whenever they stay in Leicester, this ought to be a good idea if Father and Son stay together.#

I'm sure that 200k is just for away use how the club see fit, from what I understand they have to use it or it goes, just what I've read, the pin badges, flags etc at home when we were promoted would be from the owners as this money is premier league only. The clappers and crisps must be from the owners as well.

Well exactly that was my point, the owners do deserve the thanks and credit, rather than sceptics simply saying the money has been given to them to spend.

de excommunicato capiendo Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Is no one else embarrassed by this shite? Buying gifts for billionaires? https://www.gofundme.com/lcfcgift
Carl the Llama Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Is no one else embarrassed by this shite? Buying gifts for billionaires? https://www.gofundme.com/lcfcgift I imagine it's more about the symbol of the gesture than a question of how easily they can afford it themselves.
de excommunicato capiendo Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 A private gift? Wouldn't mind if it was to be put on display or to go towards something everyone can enjoy. Am even more embarrassed by the blurb. One of the reasons the lad wants to say thank you is that he can remember there being crazy golf at the stadium once.

Again - does he literally think that's something the Thais personally decided the club ought to have?

Well exactly that was my point, the owners do deserve the thanks and credit, rather than sceptics simply saying the money has been given to them to spend. It's a nice gesture that they deserve every credit for regardless of who foots the bill. I remember as a young lad starting work, The Company used to give a 50% wage bonus in Christmas Week. One year the Company said things were bad and that they could only give a 25% Bonus. Well there was uproar in the job and talk of a strike which didn't take place. Early in the new year the Company announced that due to the divisive nature of the Bonus they were going to discontinue it in future years. I worked there for another 15 years and we never got a penny ever again. The moral is don't look a gift Horse in the Mouth. Be thankful for what we get afterall I don't see any other Clubs doing it.

Not sure that analogy works. Can't remember the last time I had to pay to get into my own workplace every day. Seems to me this whole "gift" business comes from a completely unfounded fear that the Thais don't think the fans appreciate the investment they've made in the team, or the (often league-funded) goodwill initiatives launched on their behalf which benefit supporters, and that they might go mardy on us as a result? It's a very odd school of thought.
GaelicFox Posted 13 March 2016 Author Posted 13 March 2016 Is no one else embarrassed by this shite? Buying gifts for billionaires? m https://www.gofundme.com/lcfcgift Should Have gone to the union FS guys to create a world class Tifo , to be honest seems to me like a bit of an individual push and I always feel uncomfortable with the motives of such But fair play the extra going to foundation
Fox92 Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 Each to their own, but I feel I give the owners enough having renewed my season ticket and then turning up every week.
Len Finsbury Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 This guy just wants a pat on the back. Narcissistic twat.
