Phube Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Just finished watching the Newcastle game and I could swear there was something wrong with the pitch today. Passes going astray (one's on the deck, even short ones), our players falling/tripping up all over the shop. In the first half at the start, despite there being no rain in Leicester for at least two days, there was ball spray and boot splashes!
ScouseFox Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 quite a few comments round us about the ludicrous amount of times lads kept slipping. crazy. must've been close to double figures in the first 20 mins of the second half, seemed like every time anyone broke into anything more than a jog and tried to change direction they just lost their feet. won though so wooooo
ajthefox Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 I did actually question this at one point whilst I was watching. Quite a lot of slip-ups in the game.
Alf Bentley Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 I was thinking this, too. But I don't remember the Newcastle players slipping over much.

Alf Bentley Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Therefore the pitch not as our players were used to? Don't know. Something odd was going on. Our players were slipping over A LOT more than usual, yet I didn't notice their players doing so. Maybe the wet pitch affected us more because we have a number of very quick and/or physically lightweight players in midfield/attack? I don't remember our defenders slipping over much - or Ulloa, when he came on. Don't remember Kante slipping over either, despite his size, but he's superhuman, isn't he?
Renart Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 I was thinking this, too. But I don't remember the Newcastle players slipping over much. Therefore the pitch not as our players were used to? They are more used to water/rain up in Newcastle?
SpinneyHillRanger Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 strange thing is... similar thing was happening at watford too... tonight i thought great we won't be slipping and falling over like we did in our last match... but lo and behold... same thing....couldn't even string passes forward like we usually do. Whenever morgan and huth or simpson have it at the back.... all it takes is a little panic and a little slip and that could be a goal
Jace Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 Ranieri approach to training has become so relaxed they are pissed for every game now
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 On my way into town, Stringer said on Radio Leicester they were "watering the pitch, to within an inch of its life"

kingcarr21 Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 They focus more water on the half we are attacking so the ball skims across quicker for fast flowing passing. They must have gone a bit over the top at half time cause Drinky looked like Bambi on more than one occasion.
erlee Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 MOst clubs water their pitch half an hour before kick off... it's a modern thing. It might help some teams for slick & quick passing BUT it doesn't suit our game because sometimes we like to play the long ball. MESSAGE TO THE GROUNDSMEN -- stop over watering your bluudy pitch
AyewJoking Posted 15 March 2016 Posted 15 March 2016 They are more used to water/rain up in Newcastle? haha the pitch was probably bone dry by their standards
