Danny Simpson for England?

I mean Clyde's defensive record at Liverpool is far better than Simpson's. :revenge:

Another headless chicken full-back who will bomb forward and expose the centre-halfs to a counter attack at the euros.

I'm pretty sure Simpson can bomb forward if instructed... how sucessful is another question (especially given the miss on the weekend), but the fact that he see's a quality player like Mahrez in front of him and has adapted his game to support that says a lot of his / Claudio's intelligence - hell, Real Madrid might wish to take note as a way of getting the best out of Ronaldo and Bale?

NOW - if Hodgson suddenly had a rush of inspiration and thought... let's play a 442 like Leicester (because i like the idea of putting Alli wide right/left with freedom to roam due to a defensive full back behind him) maybe, just maybe, Simpson would be included. Sadly, however - it seems a bit late for this to happen now.

You could even make a point for Simpson to be player of the season. (Every player could be player of the season!). Since he and Fuchs came in we've been excellent right across the back. There is no question Morgan & Huth trust him to do the job that DeLaet wasn't doing. Think he's really played very well, he fits in well, and it's obvious his team mates like him.

Just a shame about his history as some on here will always judge him on that, not on his play for us. Strangely no-one here seems to mention the problems Vardy has been through in the past, not to mention he was on the front pages of newspapers only eight short months ago after his casino incident, and I'm sure there are others in the team who have not been saints all their lives!

They are all human beings, and human beings make mistakes in life. How they behave after their mistakes is the most important and both Vardy and Simpson have behaved impeccably and deserve much credit.

I don't know about England, according to most on here, he shouldn't be even wearing the Leicester shirt due to a personal incident that ended up in court.

i would hope those people haven't forgotten the moral high ground you took and are still firmly sticking to your thoughts on the man, because it really wouldn't be right if you suddenly forgot your stance on the matter due to match performances.

I for one and pretty pleased I stuck up for him, pleased his personal situation is much better and very pleased the lad is doing much better on the pitch too.

No, according to some. Not most.

No, according to some. Not most.

A very good number on here didn't want him wearing the shirt again.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, they have gone very quiet now.

Shows it depends on the player and their worth to the team, rather than the actual situation. Can't imagine if it was Vardy there would have been such uproar.

So, all those who wanted him sacked, what's your thoughts now? Do you cheer him on now? Hopefully not and you have kept your high morals intact

Should his conviction be overturned, which is not beyond the bounds of possibility, given he was found guilty on police evidence, I presume all those slagging him off will apologise on this forum.

Probably not, you will just hide behind your keyboard.

Thoughts are the same. Don't want him at the club.

Wouldn't apologize because he is guilty. If it had gotten overturned it would have been bullshit.

Thought he was great in general yesterday, considering he had to come up against Payet and Cresswell at times he did very well to cope. He's been excellent since coming into the side, and I loved his passion in front of the Kop yesterday when Ulloa scored the pen.
