Romeo Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Hello guys! My two little brothers and I are going to arrive to Leicester on Saturday the 14th of May from Italy. I'm very happy to your history and to have the possibility to see the parade on Monday. I booked the hotel many months ago. I hope to meet some of you, which pub or something else could we meet you? maybe on Sunday to see the match or before the parade? Thanks!
Webbo Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 This is the best youtube vid I've seen so far. It was posted on the second so it doesn't have the trophy lift.
Chester Dontlie Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Polish "Piłka nożna" ("Football") weekly finally catched up with the big news. Should make the cover but apparently that rare honour is reserved for the local heroes of infamous Polish Ekstraklasa (@Górnik Leicester knows ) or national treasures like Lewandowski etc. On the other hand Atletico vs Bayern CL semi-final got 2 pages, so Leicester's 3 aren't that bad. The title ("Rozważni i romantyczni") alludes to Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" which in Poland is known as "Rozważna i romantyczna" which, translated to English, would mean "Prudent and romantic". These are the traits that, according to the piece, seem to characterise new Champions of England ("Mistrz Anglii"). Obviously it's too much to translate but it's surprisingly well written and in-depth piece. Sums up Leicester's fairytale from an unbiased, objective point of view. It tells the backstory, administration, Lineker, Thai owners, Pearson, Thai hookers, the Great Escape, Ranieri, the odds, the players and everything (there's even some speculation about Milik and couple other young Polish players coming to aid Wasyl in Champions League ). Polish people are, mostly, disillusioned romantics (not excluding journalists who are as cynical as can be) so it's no wonder Leicester's story strikes a chord with many supporters here.... Undoubtedly it stroke a clean and sound note in this journo's heart. So if you don't know any Polish, this is how reading this article feels like:
