FireFox Posted 25 June 2016 Author Share Posted 25 June 2016 Who needs replacing? De Laet? Not my opinion, but many think so Inler? Too slow? Wants to get game-time? Jamer? Might need to move to re-start career after injury Lawrence? Seems likely as we're are being linked to many other strikers/CAM/attacking wingers Who can be moved on without a direct replacement? (as to allow another attacking player or 6th CM) Hamer? With Iversen do we need a 3rd goal keeper in the squad? Plus he'll need to move on to get game-time. Moore or Benny? They need game-time. I like Benny but is Was still ahead of him? Plus Hernandez now. But if we lose Moore we lose a UEFA squad spot Who will be left out of the "25"-man UEFA squad? (of over 21 players, it seems we'll be only allowed 24 or 23 if Moore leaves) Hamer if he stays a CB (Amartey can cover there) De Laet or our 2nd choice RB (Amartey or a CB can cover there)

jammie82uk Posted 8 July 2016 Share Posted 8 July 2016 Up to 27 with Mendy and Musa. Hamer won't be included so down to 26 Inler and benny will more then likely be moved on so down to 24 Amartey will be classed as an over 21 for the upcoming season To be “under 21” for the 2016/17 season, you had to be born later than January 1, 1995 His birthday is 21 December 1994 so misses out by 11 days

Umm, no. He was injured the whole time, they refused to pay their share of the wages... Apparently He had surgery in May and will be back in training next week. Also, although U21, Gray counts toward UEFA squad.
MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 27 July 2016 Share Posted 27 July 2016 Damn, I just looked up that UEFA rule. Under-21's have to have been with the team for two full years! Learn something new every day. Means the new kid from Poland would have to be put on the 25-man squad for Champions League, too. And he's only 12. And Benalouane is in a legal dispute with Fiorentina because they refused to pay him, and accused LCFC of hiding his injury (he passed their physical, so don't know why they are complaining). He will supposedly be back with the team in August, but who knows what kind of condition he is in. It's not like anyone at the club has been talking about his return in any sort of hopeful way. Or even mentioning him at all.
onekeithweller Posted 27 July 2016 Share Posted 27 July 2016 Last I saw on Benalouane was on 18th May. Google translate from a Fiorentina site: His season in the field with Fiorentina has never started , but Yohan Benalouane that between clinics and doctors is not over yet . Indeed it has just begun a new , long rehabilitation process . Tuttosport today refers to surgery herniated disc that has undergone the central defender just 10 days ago. Operation passed over in silence because even took place in Turin , exactly at J Medical , the cutting edge medical center that is located inside the Juventus Stadium . Today is scheduled to visit by Professor Franco Benech , the same that had operated and further curiosity - according to Tuttosport - is that along with Benalouane there will be medical staff of Fiorentina . Probably the last act of " purple player " of the Leicester player , for which promises one stop ( other ) 3-4 months before returning to the field . Will1981 Posted 28 July 2016 Share Posted 28 July 2016 Champions League rules for player registrations Maximum Squad size: 25 List A players (out of whom two must be goal-keepers) and unlimited List B players Out of the 25 List A players, a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players are allowed to be in the squad. Other 8 should be homegrown. Out of the 8 locally trained players aka Homegrown, a maximum of four can beAssociation-trained, other 4 should be club trained. What is a ‘locally-trained player’? These are split into two categories: ‘club trained’ and ‘association trained’. What is a ‘club-trained player’? One who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which he turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which he turns 21) has been registered with his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months. This is irrespective of his nationality and age. The only 3 players we currently have are Moore, King and Schlupp so we will only be able to list a 24 List A players for the champions league, if we were to sell any of the 3 players we would be reducing the squad size for the champions league, we could try to re-sign somebody who was trained by the club for the champions league but I cant think of any half decent players in the last 10 years. What is an ‘association-trained player’? One who, between the age of 15 (or the start of the season during which the player turns 15) and 21 (or the end of the season during which the player turns 21), has been registered with a club or with other clubs affiliated to the same association as that of his current club for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months. This is irrespective of his nationality and age. We easily have enough of these players as about half of our squad were trained in England. What is the B list of players? A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season. The list must be submitted by no later than midnight CET on the day before the match in question. This will include any of our under 21 players who have been at the club for 2 years so Chilwell will be included but Gray will need to be named as a List A palyer. What about if a player moves in the January transfer window? A club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the knockout stage. Such registration must be completed by midnight CET on 2 February 2016. One player from the above quota of three can have been fielded in a group stage by another club in the current season, provided that the player has not been fielded: In the same competition for another club; OR For another club that is currently in the same competition (applies specifically to third-placed UEFA Champions League teams joining the UEFA Europa League) Can a player play in UEFA competition for more than one club in the same season in case of a transfer? As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, excluding UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Such a player is called cup-tied. However, a player can play for one club in the first, second and third qualifying round, and/or the play-offs, of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League, and then represent another club from the group stage of either competition. 24 man List A Squad 1. Schmeichel 2. Zieler 3. Simpson 4. Morgan 5. Huth 6. Wasly 7. Hernandez 8. Moore (Home Grown) 9. Benalouane 10. Fuchs 11. Drinkwater 12. James 13. Mendy 14. King (Home Grown) 15. Amartey 16. MarriedaLeicesterGirl Posted 29 August 2016 Share Posted 29 August 2016 We have one spot on Champions League squad, based on those with squad numbers. We have 5 (count 'em - five) on our PL squad. This does not include Benny, the only one of the "numberless" I think have a chance of getting a number. If we sign Silva and Slimani, we are still comfortable for PL. If they come in, and Benny gets a number, I imagine Benny and James/Was would be left off the CL squad.
Hack Posted 29 August 2016 Share Posted 29 August 2016 James will probably drop of and we add Silva and Slimani and then you have your 25 man squad.
Ed25 Posted 29 August 2016 Share Posted 29 August 2016 Tanner says Inler is going, and it is possible that Ulloa and James will also leave, with the latter likely to be a loan switch. That frees up some spaces

FireFox Posted 31 August 2016 Author Share Posted 31 August 2016 So... Lawrence out, probably Inler too... and maybe James on loan? Benalouane to be allowed to stay and play in the cups? Hamer to sit around and collect his wages? Slimani and Adrien in? With Lawrence out, our PL squad has room for 2 more players. (3 if Inler leaves, 4 if we leave out Hamer) Leave out Hamer and Inler, and also three of Benny, Iversen, James, and Kapi... and then we also have room for 2 more players in our UEFA squad. Edit: Looks like Ulloa could leave too
Lesteban Posted 31 August 2016 Share Posted 31 August 2016 Assuming the Sporting signings: (looks a little thin at the back, would be surprised if we didn't get a defender in) Schmeichel Zieler Hamer (NO SQUAD NUMBER) Iversen (U21) Simpson Morgan Huth Wasilweksi Hernandez Benalouane (NO SQUAD NUMBER) Fuchs Chilwell (U21) Drinkwater Mendy King*** Amartey Adrien Silva James (possibly out today?) Mahrez Albrighton Schlupp*** Gray (U21) Vardy Slimani Okazaki Musa We still have a relatively small squad, which is fine with me. Helps to maintain our group ethic. 24 men if you take of those with no squad numbers, and add on Gray, Chilwell and Iversen.
