Haye has come back bigger, stronger and looks fitter. His injuries seem to be past him too. He'd give Fury a close fight NOW imo, let alone next year or summat. I've always enjoyed listening to Haye personally.

It's a good post but fundamentally flawed in certain areas.

I'm of the opinion wilder would see off haye but that for me is his only slim chance of getting a belt at his age. And let's face it, David wants a huge Hearn funded Battle of Britain with Anthony Joshua, and he is not in Joshua's league if you ask me, the lad is going places in that division. He will lucky to even get the fight given the names Joshua is going to go after now.

haye was a fantastic cruiser weight but his crowning achievement as a heavy is beating up a ageing ogre with mediocre boxing skills. Given fury has said he wouldn't fight haye even if he had to vacate if he didn't he's a bit snookered.

If he wanted to continue fighting he should never of retired. He's got about 2/3 years before his age comes into play. He will get a big fight before he goes but I can't see him winning it unless he gets a mandatory for one of tysons belts and a good fight for the vacant belt.

In theory but he's 40 and he's beaten haye and bigger names already.....why take the risk? can see wlad taking an easy mandatory and calling it a day if he wins his rematch.

If my ageing memory serves me rightly, Haye packed it in cos he couldn't sort his injuries out. Didn't he have an ongoing issue with his shoulder (I might have made that up). Now he's over the niggles, he's made a u turn...and it will be about money of course. But why not? If I thought I could fight on, I would.

Yes he broke his toe fighting Klitchko but he's since admitted he was wrong to use that as an excuse for not performing on the night.

Col's right, he initially retired on Doctors advice after major shoulder surgery. But he changed his training regime, became a vegan (I think) and re dedicated himself to becoming world champ again. Not sure why so much hate from some for Haye? Yes he's made mistakes and yes he's admitted to them. He's also very open that he puts on his 'alter ego' to sell tickets for fights - but which boxer doesn't?

There's no money in it for Wlad fighting Haye as the victory was pretty emphatic. Fury wont fight him out of principle and I doubt that Haye would take a fight with Wilder even if it was offered.

As has been said, Haye wants the big payday with Joshua probably at Wembley. Its a win, win for him as if he loses, he gets paid and there would be no shame on him in the publics eyes losing to the new golden boy and of he won, happy days.

If you had shelled out 500 quid to watch him run away from Klitchko all night and then twice organised weekends to see him fight Fury and lost a load of money seeing him pull out twice for no other reason than he didn't fancy it you would understand why the boxing public is sick of him now.

I struggle to take the "he looks great" comments too seriously... He's fought two no ones. You'll see how great he still is when the calibar of opponent improves. Briggs a step in the right direction but as Matt said its one I'd struggle to get excited about.

They are decent tests he passed Martin with flying colours, looked vulnerable against white but emotion clearly got the better of him that night.

I'd agree that's why I struggle to view it as a big fight, although a bit more of a stepping stone than fighting boxers he can floor with s simple jab. Haye will see him off with ease though I'd of thought. May as well pack in if he doesn't.

The issue, for me, is this. I'd be really surprised if Haye didn't give AJ (or Fury) a closer fight than ANY of AJ's previous opponents. I think AJ would really know he's been in a scrap.

All the others are background until the proper fights happen. You're right of course, if Haye loses to Briggs, which could happen...If Briggs lands one he's capable of knocking anyone out, then it's time to hang up his gloves for good.

Valuev was decent, nothing to do with skill like but got the job done due to his size. Weak division didn't hurt either..

Come on Valuev was absolutely awful, arguably the worst heavyweight champion we have seen. The belt should still have been Chaguev's anyway.
