Bazly Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Well lets see: Fuchs Morgan Huth Simpson Albrighton King Okazaki Ulloa I can't think of any other team in any other year with the exception of Southampton 3 years ago talked up as should move by the media. Kasper linked to Everton - Why? Danny D linked to Man u - why? Kante linked to Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal, Man U and Herford U - Seems popular. Mahrez - Linked to Barcelona, Man U and Arsenal - Almost as popular as Kante Vardy - Linked to Arsenal and Liverpool but who knows? Not bad when 5 of your starting 11 are being told they should move on to better things.Finding replacements is proving elusive though, if £20mn doesn't secure Deeney then wtf is Vardy £20,000,001?
dpjfox Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 im most concerned about Kante/Man United ( they would be difficult to turn down becuse of club status) but even they couldnt guarantee playing every week and in a team/formation that suits. Id also be a tad concerned if Liverpool came in for Vardy (imo besides the money he may think at 29 its his last chance to play for an "elite team". some may say Liverpool are not an "elite team", i think its an elite club.Im sure Vardy realised that his style of play wouldnt fit in at Arsenal but it may at Liverpool BTW IT DOES AT THE CHAMPIONS LEICESTER!!!
Tuna Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 What on earth is herford u? Have Hereford been taken over by Bruce Wayne?
Booko67 Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Liverpool are definitely not an elite team, we are not in the 1980's anymore.
Fox92 Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 Liverpool are definitely not an elite team, we are not in the 1980's anymore. They are not elite but they are still more attractive than us. They're still a big club and a recognized name around the World.
Gary Eatfood Posted 12 June 2016 Posted 12 June 2016 They are not elite but they are still more attractive than us. They're still a big club and a recognized name around the World. I think the name Leicester City is also recognised around the world now.

Except for people over 40 Liverpool isn't that big of a deal. Frankly they're closer to being the next Accrington Stanley than the next Real Madrid.

I thought that the release clause only applies to CL cubs, so if Liverpool come knocking they can sod off.

Bunyip Posted 13 June 2016 Posted 13 June 2016 They are not elite but they are still more attractive than us. They're still a big club and a recognized name around the World. Liverpool more attractive than us ? WE are now a recognised name around the world and have at least won the Premiership title . They are a club in decline and have been for years and thats the only thing they are recognised for.

We will be recognised around the World now but winning one league title doesn't make us bigger than the traditional big clubs. I look at players such as Coutinho or even Fernando Torres from a few years back and couldn't imagine them choosing us over Liverpool.

History counts for nothing it's not the eighties anymore. My point is if any of our best players do leave it certainly won't be to a fading club like Liverpool it will be to top sides.
