ScouseFox Posted 14 June 2016 Posted 14 June 2016 one (actually serious not taking the piss out of finners) thing i will say is quite how remarkably stupid gareth bale and chris coleman are gonna look if (when) we beat them. some of their interviews today have been fu cking braindead. quite impressive from a team of players and a manager who are lucky to have been let out of the lower league, let alone into an international tournament.

Kane was two yards behind the game at all times, Lallana can't shoot for toffee, and Sterling lost more than he created - our game always died in the final third - so the only reason it looked good was the midfield of Rooney and Dier getting the ball where it mattered, (only for it to stop), and Walker getting on down the right wing, only for his passes infield to go nowhere. So why are we saying it was brilliant? Because in the last match (friendly) we had to compare it to, we didn't look that good The mark of great teams is to win even if they don't play as best as they can - and that's why Spain and Germany are up there and we're not.

In fact, I'll go further and say that I don't think many players put infront of a mic at a major tournament these days are there without being schooled on the party line before they start. It would be my guess that the plan is to wind up England, encourage them to drop their guard and attack to prove a point. We're a counter attacking side, we don't really score goals unless teams commit too many forward and let Bale break. I don't see Hodgson being naive enough to let you fall for it though. It'll be water off a ducks back. England's players won't feel like they have to prove anything to ours. They'll go about their game as they always do. I can't see Hodgson letting you throw caution to the wind just to score petty points.

Helps when you could say you have the 2nd best player at the euros.
