Superb football match between kerry and Dublin in the league down in Tralee tonight.

Kerry win 1-18 to 2-14.

Handbags at the end, what was that all about?

Posted

No idea. Camera was late catching up to it.

Kerry were bragging about how they laid down a marker after beating them in a league game back in 2015 only for Dublin to win 4 All Irelands in a row. They would be wise not to make the same mistake after the win last night.

Though with all their attacking flair the next decade is nicely setup for them.

Last round of the National football league today.

Link to the game between Tyrone and Galway here. Both playing for a place in the final.Might be geo-blocked but if not well worth watching.

Galway were winning by 7 points at half time but now down by 1 20 minutes into the second half.

2-10 to 1-12.

Right clanger by the Galway keeper for Tyrones second goal.

Tyrone win 3-15 to 1-14.Superb from the O'Neill county in the second half,

They miss out on a final place though. Kerry will play Mayo who overtook Galway in the table.

Looks like its a double header with the hurling in Croke Park next Sunday. My own county Limerick beat Dublin today and  await the winners of Galway and Waterford who are currently playing.

Heading home from croke park after the national League finals.

Limerick win the hurling final comfortably over Waterford.

A brilliant second half rally from Mayo to beat Kerry 3-11 to 2-10 in the football.

The scenes in the second half and after the game were truly epic.Delighted for Mayo. congrats @Mayofox

3 games or so to get to the Super 8's and then possibly another 4 to get to the final. On top of a few players over 30.

Too big an ask I reckon.

Championships have reached the business end with the provincial finals done and dusted.

The football is now in the last 12 series with 4 teams to join the 4 provincial winners in the super 8's.

Next Saturday is the last round of the qualifers series. On Saturday the 2 most high profile games are last year beaten finalists Tyrone and Cavan at 5 with Connacht sides Galway and Mayo meeting in the unusual setting of Limerick in Munster at 7. Both on Sky. The other games are Meath v Clare and Laois v Cork.

Mayo are the big draw in this round and the championship but they are on the go the entire decade and have suffered a series of multiple Matty James type injuries to several key players. It feels like their Waterloo is approaching. Even if they get to the last 8 the draw is not looking favourable. Though Galway are a tough team but had an awful Connacht final blowout losing to Roscommon and their manager under huge pressure after it.

Dublin who are chasing a first ever 5-in-a-row in both codes are the clear favourites but there might be a twist in it yet. Ulster Champions Donegal have been very impressive and at 7/1 are good value.

In the Hurling My own County Limerick won Munster at their ease on Sunday versus Tipperary and Wexford won Leinster after a tough battle with Kilkenny along with incredible emotion in the county on Sunday night.

The semi final line up will more than likely be

Limerick v Cork/Kilkenny

Wexford v Tipp/Dublin

Defending champions Limerick have a lot going for them in terms of youth, physicality, workrate and attack. If I was to recommend an outside bet it is probably Tipp who despite the heavy loss on Sunday have now somehow got a handier route to a potential final on account of Wexford's win. Until last Sunday they were the most impressive side in the championship overall.

They are a bit like Mayo Football with an ageing squad but an a one off day in a final will fancy taking on anyone. 11/4 is a good price.

All Ireland Hurling Champions Limerick were beating in a slight surprise to Kilkenny last night. 1-21 to 2-17.

Bit of controversy at the end as we were denied a chance to get a draw but we weren't at full tilt and Kilkenny fully deserved their win.

Disappointing for us but we won National League, Munster, the All Ireland in 12 months for the first time since the 1930s. Team is young enough to come back. Been a great few years for us and fought hard last night so can't complain really. Been a great few years with Leicester and Limerick.

The other semi final is on at 3.30 today. Leinster Champions Wexford playing Tipp at 3.30. Live on Sky Sports Arena.

Is there anywhere online you can watch GAA? Don't have Sky.

Premier Sports has the rights to games I believe this year. Not sure what channel it is on.

The RTE Player is one for senior games.

The TG4 website carries a lot of non senior games but might be geo-blocked. https://www.tg4.ie/ga/beo/caineal-2/

Here is a very good link for Minor/Under 20 games. The sport TG4 player on Youtube. I watched games from Smart TV over in Leicester when I went over for Crystal Palace and Brighton back in February. Irish commentary though.

The Minor Football games in particular have been outstanding this year. 2 brilliant provincial finals and an epic between Mayo and Dublin yesterday. Caught up with it after Limerick game yesterday. Unreal.

Kerry just beat Tyrone in the All Ireland Minor Quarter final. Cork and Monaghan is live at 6.

What an afternoon.

Tipp have just beaten wexford in an incredible semi final 1-27 to 3-20. Some very dubious refereeing but got through by a point. Tipp Kilkenny final in 3 weeks time.

Cork have just pulled off an upset in the Under 20 Football beating Tyrone 2-17 to 1-18 after being 7 points down in the 2nd half.
