Dude you were proved wrong just admit it and get on with life. Better days will come and you will win an argument. A 7 minute video proved me wrong? Did it show the other 83 mins or have i missed something?

He, just like Musa is more than capable of controlling it, the issue is he's not consistent. I'm one of the biggest advocates of giving all the signings more time and not being harsh on them. But if you've not seen how wayward quite a lot of his control and passing has been here so far, then you either aren't watching or you're choosing to ignore it. That's not to say that consistency won't come with game time, but lets not ignore that far too often than what we'd consider normal, it has let him down.

Sometimes he miss controls it and makes dumb passes, but most players do that. No one is perfect, not saying his feet are good, because they aren't but they aren't that bad either, for me it is an in between.

You missed, he did a great game. Of course he might have miss controlled or made a bad pass, but no player does 90 minutes without any mistake.

If anyone doesn't actually say how long they are willing to give 'a new signing' before they make any sort of judgement, it's the ultimate in fence sitting. Anyone literally can't be mistaken if they don't actually make a shout on whether a player is any good, or is pants. Football is a results business. The Prem is ruthless and gives very little time for this so called 'bedding-in' of players. The reality is that Slimani, 30 million pound, top striker etc...has been hugely disappointing for us generally. The Docs of this world will come up with the usual stuff about 3.6 average assists, with a standard deviation of .3 recurring...and all that malarkey. But we've seen that he snatches at chances that simply should just be scored, picks up an an injury every second week and is no longer first choice. He's like many of them. He's simply been ok. But not the powerhouse, rampaging assassin that I was led to believe he was. Far from it. Brings me back to the earlier point...how long do we give him?

Good summary - at the risk of being accused of not understanding football, I can't see him adapting here and he clearly doesn't fancy it as the fantasy injuries before away games not on TV demonstrate. His stats are massively misleading as well - even when he scored against West Brom he was woeful, and if we're talking stats does Ulloa's goal every 240 mins this season make him a better bet than Slimani? To be honest I think they're comparable players and at least Ulloa can hold the ball up and shows desire when he comes on, rather than waving his arms around and gesticulating at Drinkwater. You'll notice when Slimani came on against Seville he played on the last man and Vardy played as a 10 (Okazaki role) - he's never going to displace Vardy - who's about 9 million times the player he is, and can't play the Okazaki role. He clearly didn't come here to be sub and I genuinely think we still need an upgrade on Shinji (althougth that's proving difficult to find). I find it hilarious someone at the club thought he was worth £30m - he's barely worth half that.
Beechey Posted 21 March 2017 Posted 21 March 2017 Slimani links up very well with Mahrez, we've seen that over the last games, he was vital to get the clear cut chance to Vardy (which he sent into orbit). Players often have a lacklustre first season, there is no reason at all to assume he can't be better than this. We aren't playing to his strengths either. It would be nice if once he comes on to take over from Vardy, our style changes to swinging crosses into him rather than the long ball over the top.

There is no set time on how long you give someone, it's all about circumstances of the individual and the situation. This season up until the last four games I've watched players who have been consistently very good for us, look like relegation fodder totally incapable of playing in this league. I've stated from day one that whilst that is the case, the new players should not be written off as whatever is hampering the old players, could be hampering the new. As far as I'm concerned, they get judged from this point onwards. They now have a performing team around them, freed from whatever was causing them issues all season. Whether they get the sufficient game time this season to prove themselves is yet to be seen, but one very possible reason for their average performances has been removed. They may never get that time, with Mendy and Slimani I said I didn't see how they fit our current system before they even kicked a ball. We'd need a complete about turn for them to fit in to what currently works.

Kind of implies that Ranieri had lost the plot right from the start of the season (which I agree with).

I've been saying it all season that I wouldn't judge them until those we know can perform, start doing so. And I said now is the time to start judging them as soon as we seemed to turn a corner. I'm not sure why I have to give anyone anything to work with. My opinions are my own, how long I give someone is also my own choice. You judge them your own way. As for Ranieri, I don't think the blame is all with him. Again, as I said at the start of the season I thought we'd struggle with motivation, because I was personally as a fan. He made some poor decisions early on, which added to the lack of motivation caused us to get spanked... from then on it was a spiral.

Again, if you want to comment, comment with some sense. Commenting just to earn posts isn't the best idea. It wasn't that Mahrez has been told to play wider, Vardy to play off the last man, Fuchs allowed to cross the half way line. It you don't understand the tactical changes we've made in the last 4 games then you my friend are an ostrich.

It is obvious the difference, but nothing has to do with Shakespeare, players started to play period. They weren't with Ranieri, not Ranieri's fault in my opinion.

Let's have it right. Shakey has come straight in and dropped Mendy. He's not starting 'fans favourite' Amartey and he's picking Shinji over Slim. He's also not bowed down to the majority thinking on here (that Chilwell should 'surely' replace Fuchs), nor has he gone anyway near Kaputska. And thank God...we've won four out of four. Does that seem like any sort of coincidence to you? It doesn't to me. What I'm hoping in the summer is that Shakey (or someone with just as much sense) comes in and has a really good clear-out of these bang average players we've accumulated since Pearson departed.

Again with Ranieri Shinji still had more minutes than Slimani and the results were still bad. The team was essentially the same with Ranieri, the players simply didn't perform. I don't want to accuse no one, but I think players wanted Ranieri out of Leicester and they got it.

It's not spot on at all... You go back to the last genuine league game we played under Ranieri Swansea and the team was exactly as it is now, other than Gray played instead of Okazaki... Mendy, Amartey, Slimani, Musa, Kapustka, Chillwell rarely started. Go back one more game against United and it's exactly the team we're playing now. Yes, there have been tactical tweaks, but this cull that Col seems to think happened, didn't.

Yeah, believe it or not, I think Amartey will probably stay with us. His ability to be played in more than one position (if played at all) is always handy. And as I've always maintained, I think he's probably suffered more than most by the team clearly getting royally fooked up.

Slimani started virtually every game he was fit under Ranieri. Rested against Chelsea and whenever else he's been on the bench it was him coming back from injury (under Ranieri).

And he was our top scorer and top in assists, so it's not a shock he played a fair bit. For quite some time he looked like the only player capable of scoring. The fact remains that all the players were tried, Ranieri tried the team we're playing now. It's not just about player selection, it's about motivation and tactics. We've yet to see them in the side as we're playing now. 20 minutes against West Ham when everyone is fooked and backs to the wall isn't really the best chance. I'm not even sure what point you and Col are trying to make any more to be honest.
