st albans fox Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 We thrived last season on our preparation for each game. We were told that Claudio was so detailed in giving the players a resume of the opposition strengths and weaknesses - spending days drilling the players on the training ground for the upcoming game I think that the only games where we have had a clear week with the players approaching a game are Hull arsenal swansea spurs maybe we should wait and see what happens at the stadium of light next Saturday before making too many judgements.
Fox92 Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Rubbish. Why are people still trying to make excuses. We are poor. Results and performances reflect that. Without two penalties we wouldn't have even scored today. Wake up.
brucey Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Pre-Watford the players mentioned about having done all their homework on Watford, so don't think this is much of a factor
lgfualol Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 Next game is before a CL match so will be the usual half effort response and same uninterested players And yes I realise we are already through.
AKCJ Posted 26 November 2016 Posted 26 November 2016 There's 2 main reasons IMO. 1) Kante's departure has shown the defence up to what it really is. 2) Every team is desperate to beat us. Look at Boro's celebrations once they scored the winner. I've seen sides get last minute winners against us and go half as mental. We're a trophy and everyone wants to win here. It's a perfect place to come as an away fan. There isn't anything intimidating about us at the moment.
st albans fox Posted 26 November 2016 Author Posted 26 November 2016 It's only 7 days to wait - of course if you already know the answers to our problems then great. I'm just trying to work it out because it isn't just the loss of Kante and there were teams we turned over final quarter of last season who really needed the points. i really wasn't shocked to see today's performance. Losing the babysitter of the team and only having one full days training to get the team used to playing without him was a recipe for what we saw. I imagine Claudio thought changing the system and being without drinks was an even bigger risk than just hoping king and amartey would fill the space effectively.
