Louise Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 Us and QPR have been charged by the FA for 'failing to control our players'. No doubt talking about the 'brawl'/pushing match in the QPR game.

Cobbo Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 Jesus Christ, I've seen worse fights in Quakers meetings.
Louise Posted 29 September 2005 Author Posted 29 September 2005 We have until October 12th to respond. It's not really a surprise is it? That ref had it in for us from the start, bet he loved filing the report.

Surely Leicester City should respond with give us a good quality ref (i missed QPR) but apparently he was gash!...... the one at brighton was no better.. See what they say to that, reffing at the superbowl.... ooops crispbag walkers stadium has been the worst ive seen in years.

No doubt talking about the 'brawl'/pushing match in the QPR game. Absolutely ridiculous. Handbags (very small ones with glitter and sequins on) at 10 paces. The FA should charge themselves with failing to provide a decent referee.
stulcfc Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 The FA should charge themselves with failing to provide a decent referee. well said

See what they say to that, reffing at the superbowl.... ooops crispbag walkers stadium has been the worst ive seen in years. They would certainly be better occupied investigating the referee instead of trying to extort money out of us. It wasn't his decisions. It was his laboured way of dealing with everything and his total inability to keep the game flowing. An utter disgrace in my view (and that's as one who agreed fully with sending off Maybury and most of his other decisions. How can you be so bad when your reasons for blowing up are okay. Well, he managed it and had the game finished the 15 minutes overtime it should have done then I'm sure the FA would have had an inquiry. Is there an old boys network operating that makes sure, no matter how much time is actually lost, that matches don't finish more than so many minutes late (presumably to help the media/for pools checks etc)?. But, of course, that means clubs are not being allowed to play their rightful 90 minutes. Why doesn't the FA look at that - in fact why don't Leicester complain that there was fewer than 90 minutes actually played cos that's how it seemed to me?.
Deathside Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 And we LOST the fight! There was a mass brawl during the game, which QPR won BBC Sport Report
Matt Posted 29 September 2005 Posted 29 September 2005 Maybe the FA should charge the referee for being "unable to control a football match" The referee we had on Saturday could arrange the kick-off (After the second goal) he did the same with a few freekicks and then theres the all the other crap descisions, e.t.c he made
cisono Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Us and QPR have been charged by the FA for 'failing to control our players'. No doubt talking about the 'brawl'/pushing match in the QPR game. An exaggeration... anyway, at least we didn't hit the referee in the head! (as some other team did)
Ric Flair Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 The referee's against Sheffield Wednesday and QPR were a disgrace to football and I can't believe they have the necessary qualifications to referee. Isn't it time we had a referee do us a favour and perhaps give us 6 penalties or something.
Ricey Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Either way you look at it Alan Maybury lost control and so did the rest of the team, Rab ran half the field to clatter into everyone.
Louise Posted 30 September 2005 Author Posted 30 September 2005 We're appealing... We plan to appeal - Levein The aftermath of Alan Maybury's dismissal against QPR last Saturday has caused City to be charged, along with their London opponents, with misconduct by the FA. The charge is for not controlling their players. However, City boss Craig Levein, aware that the club have been already fined for their poor disciplinary record in recent seasons, believes the incident was not too serious. He said: "I don't think there was too much in it, to be honest, and I think anyone who was at the game and saw it would think the same. "We will answer the charge and appeal against it, but I don't know if it will do any good." http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?k...092005422420931
Scow Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 You often see 22 man brawls, so why are we getting picked on? It wasn't exactly fists, was it?
Katy Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Good on the club for appealing, I know it costs but I think we have a case.
Durnerz Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 Did you see the ref when it all kicked off? The nonce stood back and let it happen!! This guy should be fined by the FA for not doing his job properly.
Matt Posted 30 September 2005 Posted 30 September 2005 I'm sorry but I think the players controlled themselves brilliantly because I know for a fact if I was on the pitch in that match and the "brawl" kicked off I'd have been charged for assult/attempted murder on the referee! Fuking arsehole!
Louise Posted 12 October 2005 Author Posted 12 October 2005 Foxes and QPR respond to charges Queens Park Rangers have admitted a Football Association charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion. However, Leicester have denied the same charge. Both relate to the brawl that took place in Rangers' 2-1 win at the Walkers Stadium on 24 September. Both clubs requested personal hearings, which are yet to be scheduled. There were claims that QPR supporters were taunted with chants about the London bombings during the game. Referee Colin Webster showed two red and seven yellow cards, with Rangers' Paul Furlong grabbing the winner just before he was sent off. Leicester's Alan Maybury saw red earlier in the game. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...v_1/4336086.stm So we're appealing, but QPR are admitting to the charges, interesting....
Scow Posted 12 October 2005 Posted 12 October 2005 I suppose with the likes of Shittu, Santos and Bircham in the side, they can't really deny it...
Louise Posted 12 October 2005 Author Posted 12 October 2005 Probably means we'll get a bigger fine in the end for denying it <_<
Guest Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 We're appealing... Not in footballing terms though! Seriously though, from what I saw on the video, Maybury did something stupid, QPR players steamed in, and the Leicester players were pulling QPR players off of Maybury/each other etc. At the time, I do remember shouting a lot of abuse at Douglas as there was no need for him to join in the melée, but to be fair he did rush in then stand around at the back a bit from what I can remember. If it was my decision, I would appeal but I don't think QPR stand a chance. Having said that, the referee must take some responsibility for this, it was his failure to control the game after all.
jake-the-ref Posted 13 October 2005 Posted 13 October 2005 i find your interpretations of the referees perfomance at qpr very poor, the referees job is not to get into the middle off mass brawls but to observe and take action. if they got into the middle of it all they could be assaulted themselves. The FA's charges are failing to ensure the players conducted themselves in an orderly manner qpr have admitted the charge we have denied it altough i feel we have no right.
