Judging from the highlights, Chilwell was given the runaround by Deulofeu and Ndidi was at fault for at least two Everton (half) chances. Maybe fans that went are being extra generous towards our youngsters (or harsh on Albrighton) or the highlights don't give a true picture. Probably a bit of both
WigstonWanderer Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 Yes, the highlights on the Everton site suggest Chilwell had a stinker. Presumably they don't tell the whole story. Not sure he is ready for regular prime time as a full back yet. Seems to get beaten too easily sometimes.
chrishlcfc Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 Chilwell played very well, yes he got beat easily for there goal, but he was probably only beaten on one other occasion in the match, I thought he had a really good match bar that one piece of poor defending.

Agreed - everyone who is calling out Chilwell for being beaten for the goal need to have a look at how easily Fuchs got beaten against Middlesbrough - it's only the fact that Traore has the end product of a sack of potatoes that meant they didn't lead to clear cut chances. Chilwell had an otherwise excellent game. Agreed about Albrighton - defensively worked extremely hard, ran himself into the ground providing cover. Ndidi ratings probably slightly inflated by the fact it was his debut, and Drinkly slightly unfortunate - had another very good game.

Delofeu (think it was him but haven't seen it again) didn't seem to do anything to beat Chilwell. It wasn't a burst of pace or piece of great skill, he just seemed to run past him with ease.

4ever and ever Posted 11 January 2017 Posted 11 January 2017 I was there and felt Mendy was our best midfielder. Controlled the game. Ndidi was brilliant too. Drinky was quite quiet for first half an hour. But when musa came on it allowed ndidi and Mendy to move 15 yards further up the pitch, that in turn gave Drinkwater more freedom to express himself higher up the pitch and I thoughr second half he was back to what we know from Drinkwater.
