Guest the fox Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Like @Slim Dog pointed out in the "gray, selfish or not ?" Thread . that thread is too negative. So I though our youngster deserves his own thread.

bovril Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Sean Connery thinks he's an aquatic invertebrate.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Got an assist yesterday from his corner. That's (at least) Gray's second assist from a corner with the other one being away at Tottenham when Wasilewski headed in. That was also in the cup I believe. His crossing ability is very good. If we're looking to contiune to play the 4-4-1-1 formation we ought to play him CAM. I feel he's creative enough for that role, and it would mean he wouldn't have quite the same defensive responsibility as playing out wide. However, Gray and Chilwell down that left side can be effective I feel.
majaco Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Much better yesterday. Against Southampton, he was unaware that passing can be beneficial.
UPinCarolina Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 His crossing is excellent; second only to Mahrez in that regard. If we're going to insist on throwing balls into the box, he's going to need to be the one chucking them.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Think our last two goals from corners have come from him? (Derby FA Cup and an FA Cup game last season) His delivery is great that's all I can say. Shows bags of promise, yes he can be a bit greedy but he's the only player who looks like scoring when he gets on the ball. Shows great drive to get forward unlike anyone else in the team.

Kevinparr71 Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Did ok when he come on last night needs a run of games
crazyleicester Posted 28 January 2017 Posted 28 January 2017 Watching it play for the England u21s, he looked outstanding playing wide right and running down the wing and crossing in the direction he was running. Coincidentally Albrighton looks great since switching to the right. Why is there a fascination these days to play players on the left and ask them to run down the wing and cut back only to lose momentum? I dont get it to be honest. Its something that crept into the game more and more in recent seasons. Back to Gray, he is a rough diamond and has plenty to learn but its obvious he has such raw talent that this dude could easily end up being an England regular. He needs game time and to learn certain things (like to look up and pass/cross) but unlike wingers over the years like Aaron Lennon, Wilfred Saha and more recently that Boro wide man Adama Traore, Gray has an eye for a goal and has an end product. Once he understands the nuances (eh?? LOL) of the game and he understands that an assist is almost as good as a goal then he will be outstanding.
