There's an argument that Saturday's game we started to play badly upon Kaputska's sub. He provided a lovely balance. An outlet someone willing to come deep. Okay hardly eye catching but lovely technique. I'd like to see him a team alongside Riyad

And a bloody site worse when Wague got injured

I'm actually more worried about the fact Ranieri has had 4 transfer windows and has signed 2 CBs. Hernandez was sold 6 months after signing him and Benny has had about 10 appearances for us in nearly 2 full season's. Shambolic. We then take a punt on a guy who's played 90 career games at aged 25.

The side that started vs Swansea, only 2 of the 11 starters was signed by Ranieri  (Gray and Ndidi).

You sure its Ranieri that signs the players...?!?

I agree with some of the criticisms being voiced about Ranieri but im not not so sure he should be getting the blame for 'everything' thats wrong at the club...

Kramaric didn't play because the team were doing well, or at least being competitive, not so now, no excuse for not giving these 2 a try when those that have the physicality for the Premier League are playing so appallingly.

Difficult one. Pick players who have the proven skills, strength and can cut it but are for what ever reason under-performing or pick players that are not the finished article but have a thing to prove. If arsed, a run out against the second teams of Chelsea, Man City, Southampton. West Ham, Brighton and Arsenal they chose to miss may have helped their progression.

Kramaric, like Kaputska is less ready to play than those chosen for the first team

It sometimes takes time for players to settle in at a new club and in a new country. Especially a young player like Kapustka. Yes he had played for his national side but regularly playing in the Polish league isn't the same as in the PL. Expecting him to come straight in and hit the ground running a la Kanté is a bit fanciful.

Perhaps Claudio got this one right. He is only just being blooded into the side and has done OK against a second-string Derby side and a full-strength League 1 Millwall. He's not going to be parachuted into a high-pressure league or CL game as he's not quite ready. Maybe the start of next season we'll really start to see Kapustka and Gray blossoming week in, week out.

As for Benny, I'm sorry but I'm still not convinced. Errors made against Derby and Millwall. Don't get me wrong, I do think he's better with the ball at his feet but I don't think he's done enough to start a big game for us. Huth and Morgan are far from perfect right now, but they're the best we have at the moment imho. We really should have sorted this in Jan.

Very well put.

Kramaric was more of a player off the pitch than on it, hit the town a many times. Not affected many players but maybe didn't help him. Shades of 'where did it all go wrong George?' (Best)

I feel for Kaputska and I'm sure he'll make it.

Benny, Is not that great a player and is 25% in to a 4 year contract at the age of 29, his need to play has finished although that's not his fault. Cost us all-in just under £2 million a game so far.

We were yes, but we were competitive in every game that season.

Didn't stop people on here screaming for his inclusion though.

No we weren't.  In reality it was about 50/50.

In some of those games that season we were as bad as we are now.

Without looking I'm pretty sure we didn't go over 10hours without scoring a goal that season, we're worse now than then, abysmal.

No.  Worst we managed was 7.5hrs.

I wasnt really referring to streaks.  More the general play which was as bad at times as it is now.

How many of the first team are on their game? And those who are not should they still get to wear the shirt or should someone else be given the opportunity to prove that they can do the job? After the Derby match I thought Benny might be given a run out in the next game against Swansea but C.R thought otherwise and he is just going about his job virtually picking the same 11 each time hoping that something clicks. And giving players a run out in a cup match is hardly going to keep them happy,  when those who play in the league week in week out and probably tomorrow night are not producing the results or even a level of performance worthy of the shirt.

I'd say Gray is probably the only player anywhere near to his best and even he's not exactly tearing up trees.

Tearing up trees is bloody difficult though, to be fair...
