Benalouane and Kapustka shabbily treated ?

The way in which Benny and Kapustka have been treated this season, is reason alone for getting rid of Claudio !?  They have been the only bright sparks in recent weeks - and must keep their places.  How bizarre is Claudio's decision to omit Kapustka from the Champions League squad ?

It's bizarre. Ironic that Claudio's signings have come under fire this season, yet these two might have proved to be amongst his better finds.

But he's refusing to show it

You can add Ulloa to that list and even Gray has only got a look in recently.

Gray has played in this season 1.467 minutes in all competitions.

That is more than just  "a look".

I have Stood up and defended Claudio, through this turgid turmoil..But!!

Its this lack of dynamicity that for me he lacks.Especially this season where nip and tucks needed to be tried.

Benny's absence was always a mystery to me.

Kapu 8mil and no bench time, no matter what he claudio might of thought in training..

the only reason Gray got a run is because CR has rrrrrun out of options

that's why i keep saying - whoever is in-charge of managing playing resources ought to be sacked.

1. CR - i bet he gets the nod over who is in the selection

2. Rudkin i bet he does  the signings - how much vetoe does CR has? i think even CR has a say in who gets bought & sold

I think we all need to calm down about Kapustka.  He hasn't exactly set the world on fire on produced MOTM performances against either Derby or Milwall.  I'm not writing him off or saying he shouldn't get a chance in the Premier League but let's get some perspective.

What not even 2 mins? That's outrageous, thought he had played at least 20!

He was one of our better players on Saturday.

Created space, some of his balls over the top were good and link up play especially with Gray was good.

Our two better players were subbed off.

Only reason Kapustka isn't in the CL squad is we don't have enough home grown players registered so we need to leave some spaces in the squad as a result.

At a time when we are lacking goals or even looking remotely close to creating chances I find it odd that he's not giving kaputska an opportunity in the prem considering every time he's played he's created chances for us or been involved in good bits of build up play.

That and the fact he's not quite good enough yet, but he most certainly will be in the not too distant future. Would like to see him get some PL game time first half (before we go 2 goals down), it won't make it any worse than it is.

So who is good enough? Certainly most of those who have played this season aren't and you only get good enough by getting time on the pitch. Unless you play for our first team this season where playing makes you progressively worse! :D

Benny has had a back problem for a long time and took a long time to get his fitness back.

Kapustka has looked slightly better than average against a championship and a league 1 team. In neither game did he have any effect on the outcome.

Granted, that's wty if you read my post I'm advocating time on the pitch, preferably at a time in the game where we're not in a losing position. Based on current performances, the only player good enough (my opinion) are Kasper, Gray & Ndidi I'll have to get back to you if I can think of any other player that should be playing CL football on merit.....struggling though. The CL has been such an anticlimax now it hurts.

I really hope something is produced to make our travelling supporters happy, they truly deserve it.

Add Matty James to the list too........

I can't understand why Kapustka hasn't been given more chances earlier in the season as he has been good when he has played and at the very least would show enthusiasm to do something. while Benny is a steady defender who just needed game time to get used to the Premier league. and with Morgan and Huth in such bad form should have been utilized more.

Derby reserves and a league one team... we needed extra time to beat one and lost the other.

They did ok, no more no less.

And it's not like Kaputska or Benalouane stood out, as you said they did okay.

Kaputska isn't ready for PL football, you can see he's got talent but that's not enough.

He reeks of Kramaric, good control, good vision and a decent player... but lacking the physicality and pace of most premier league players. Up against your better quality player he'd struggle for me. He had some great touches of class but he goes huge periods of not being involved.

He's actually quite a big lad, a bit more strength and effort and he could make it.

Yep, I've said this twice now and I'll keep saying.

I can't give an answer to why the 'first team' aren't playing for Claudio, however when the 'second team' have sat there watching this shit, get given a chance v Derby, play well then get dropped for the Swansea game I think they have every right not to 'play for Claudio'.

I think one or two of them should be handing transfer requests in too.

Obviously it'll get them nowhere till the summer but it's a statement of intent.

As I said I can't explain the first teams problem but as regards the 'second team' Claudio has caused this.

People need to stop judging the players so strongly in matches against Derby Reserves and Millwall.

Kaputska was decent in both, but tired very quickly.

Benalouane was comfortable on the ball but is a liability defensively. Just watch Millwall's goal back for proof.

They are not the answer.
