Actually wouldn't mind seeing Amartey at centre half later on in the season (if we're pretty safe might be worth a try out) - he really strikes me as the sort of player who could be top draw somewhere on the pitch, we just haven't seemed to got the position down yet. He's got the basic attributes for a good centre half - and is a better passer than Morgan or Huth so that would benefit us having a bit more playability from the back. Might save us £20 million investment on a new centre half in the summer.

Yes the quote was 'one of the worst midfielders City have had in years, I believe. I think this was on the back of losses to Liverpool and Man Utd where we conceded was it 8 goals?

I stand by it, as I always do. He's a centre back. If you read, you'll see that many people are now saying the same thing. I tend to say it sooner.

 It's no coincidence now that we have a settled midfield, Amartey isn't featuring. Regarding him being a centre back for City, I'm not even sure he'll be that for us. I think we'll sign better in the summer and probably Amartey will leave.

I don't apologise for not being on the bandwagon because it's trendy to be so. You should try it. Amartey is ok. Nothing more. Finally, if you read more of the thread, rather than doing your usual picking and choosing, you'll see I wrote more than once that I didn't blame Amartey. He was thrown in by Ranieri too early. Probably because we got so short.

I think it very much seems you were wrong and you aren't admitting it? Amartey isn't playing is he? I like the kid. I like his attitude and he tries. But he ain't very good as a midfielder.. And I must have written he's a CB at least ten times.

+1 you stand by your word. As I have said above though how have you judged him.

 

He played in a side that way under performed. He came in as all players needing support and the old guard where letting themselves down not only new players.

 

Is he really to blame or the under performing players around him at the time.

 

He like Musa and Mendy came into a title winning side that were playing Sunday league level compared to last season.

 

Hardly the new players that should get the blame.
