It reminds me a lot of when Sousa took charge, tried to play a game our players weren't moulded to. I think there are plenty of Vardy esque players out there. The chap who plays for Athletico is pretty close. Will be interesting to see how we deal with that threat. I think Defoe in his younger days was also very similar. Like you say, it'll be interesting to see how we build on this squad in the future. I'm treating the 'Vardy to be sold' rumours as nothing more than Spanish pot stirring pre-Atletico 1/4. Seeing him lately, I cannot for the life of me think why anyone would want to sell him, and I think opposition players REALLY hate having to deal with him.

Can't imagine Leicester without Vardy at the minute. Our current strikers certainly won't be able to replace him.
HighPeakFox Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 I'm hoping now that the OP has forgiven me, and realises I have positive things to say....

Now we're good again, I still think we'll finish 8th. I wonder what odds I'd have got on us finishing 8th? If we finish 8th, I'll be gutted I didn't have a bet on it. We'll finish 8th won't we.. I thought 8th for ages until after the run of five defeats. Then was thinking 16th. Now thinking we'll finish 12th as we will likely (and rightly) drop players for the Everton and Palace games, and possibly West Brom away if we get to the champions league semi finals.
ozleicester Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.
ARM1968 Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 Vardy is the chav equivalent of Costa. Horrible little facker to play against. Don't see him leaving or us wanting him to. A confident Vardy is lethal. As for where we'd be. Top obviously. 10pts clear and on our way to another miracle. Or not.
JP the Fox Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 Where would we be if... ...Kermocunt hadn't chipped that pen ???
Mickyblueeyes Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 These players have now performed to a high standard under three different managers. When played to their strength, maybe just maybe, they're not below average players as Merson called them. Every club must play to its strength and if we did at the start of the season, we maybe up there near and in between United and Liverpool.
Koke Posted 2 April 2017 Posted 2 April 2017 Away games at Everton, WBA, Arsenal, Palace and Man City. Home games v Sunderland, Watford, Tottenham and Bournemouth. We will probably get 12 points from that and end up with 45 points and finish 10th ish.

Not really interested in what Merson has to say - he's a punditry joke. Want to get through the atletico tie so Owen has to eat humble pie - the man has too much respect. He's just a failed racehorse trainer who used to be able to run quickly
