Where would we be if.....?

Has anybody day dreamed....

.....what if we had been playing as we have in the past weeks in the whole season, where do you think we would we be?

This is not a thread for negative comments about previous regimes just a dreamers question.

I fancy we would be top 6.

Based on a conservative estimate of an average of 2 points per game, we'd currently be in 4th place with 58 points and one point off 3rd

We could have pretty much challenged for the title again!!

Probably in and around the very top again. Aside from Chelsea and Spurs there's very little collective, team quality in this league again. They're all beatable.

Hindsight is 20/20 though I suppose.

If we had've signed Ndidi instead of Mendy in the summer, and if Claudio hadn't gone a bit loopy, we could've been challenging for the title this season and the domestic cups. Nontheless, as far as I'm concerned there's no reason to complain because we are in the quarter final of the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!

I don't think we'd be top 4. I think we're obviously very good and Ranieri's tactics were holding us back somewhat. But we've beaten some poor teams in this run and 3 out of the 4 have been at home, which was never the problem. Taking nothing away from Shakey's brilliant start, obviously.

Our current run is very much the product of some momentum, depends on how we started the season.

We've been abysmal for 2/3 of the season and yet we are above Burnley.

Btw, are we still in a relegation battle? Cos we have leap frogged West Ham and Burnley, and we're only 3 points behind Stoke.

I thought pretty much the same thing straight after the final whistle. Sadly its just if, buts and maybe's.

We've still got enough games left to push into the top 10.

If nothing else it added a bit of excitement to the season

Jeez - what a difference a couple of weeks make. This is the most relaxed I've been whilst watching the team for aaaaaages. Never looked like losing today and could've had 5 easily.

I reckon we'd be around/above Everton and United if we'd been like this all year.

And...?

And.... you needed to tell everyone who did see it as 'pointfull' that it was pointless but ironically the only thing that was pointless was your post as you were informing us that you had no interest.

I'm confident in saying barr Chelsea this league is no stronger than last season.

Of course we wouldn't have won it again, we wouldn't have finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th, possibly 5th or 6th although I doubt it in reality, but i'd fancy us to be challenging between 6th and 10th....we still can, that is how poor the league is....you could argue we should have been dead and buried.

It's frustrating that we've fucked about for most of the season but that was down to Ranieri's tactics on a whole and proves the point even more so that the right decision was made as sad and as unfortunate as it was.

Go cause an argument with someone your own size.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought you were going to comment on what I'd been thinking. That is.....where would we be if we hadn't won these four games? As good as the run has been we are only six points above relegation. The other sides have all been getting results e.g. Palace today. Imagine if we'd won a couple and drawn a couple which would have been so much better than the rest of the season, yet we really would have still been right in it. We're leaving Sunderland and 'Boro behind but aren't away from that third side yet. Must keep it going as we haven't got the best run in compared to some. Not being negative but with twelve points in the last four, you'd think we should be miles away.

Fair point and proberbly just as thought provoking. A scary prospect.
