I think Gray will be an outstanding player when he peaks and he's already PL quality. I want us to be that club that signs quality young players and gives them a chance rather than the like of Chelsea who have had the likes of Lukaku and De Bruyne on their books and would rather sell them than ease them into the first team squad, not to mention the likes of Solanke, Loftus-Cheek, etc.

 

Unless we could replace Mahrez with a similar quality player which is highly unlikely we have Gray to slot straight in and also have Lawrence and Barnes who are relative unknown quantities. Musa might be given a chance to play wide left whilst Albrighton is better wide right as well,

 

We can afford to take a chance on our younger players as we're a likely mid table team.

Agree...plus there is no like for like, who can replace Mahrez.

Plus in the whole issue of stay or go, one big point we have missed, is I believe we havent played Riyhad, since Title season in his better or an improved Roll.Our stagnation of last season and lack of investing in more quality players, left him a bit high n dry, and Vardy

If he does depart, Then like you say we can promote from within, and use our tecki players differently.  Gray/Albrighton/Musa, or a different set up with either Lawrence/Fuchs/Chilli/Barnes.

Without Mahrez we have no play maker, I'm fine for Gray to come in but then we must have a creator in another position, ideally at central midfield. When you're style of play isn't based on possession football then your wingers have to be able to dictate play and I'm not sure Gray has that ability yet, Albrighton certainly isn't that type of player either.

Anybody looked at le havre to see if there is any unknown young wingers who we could sign to replace him ?
