Graham Potter, Ostersunds FK - would you take a gamble?

He should be on the short list without a shadow. It would be a forward thinking appointment. You'd have your reservations about it before this season but his record in Europe this year is simply superb.

you're a wizard harry.

If he comes, hopes he can broomstick-brush out some of the wasted talent (i.e. Amartey, Musa) in the side, or have a magic want to make them more competent.

Done an incredible job where he is, FM type stuff, but Christ that would be a step up. That said, I'd rather take the gamble that he's quality than getting someone like Pardew who we know is shite.

Unshakeable logic.

But any self-respected DoF or MD would be tracking these sort of managers progressing through the game. He might not be ready now but you'd have a shortlist as back-up in case of poor management. I think it was Norwich at the point they hired Alex Neil said they had a database of around 50 managers who they felt had overachieved at their current clubs and were achievable targets.

Very much the next Hodgson by all accounts, bit too risky at this juncture though. Needs to probably move onto a bigger club around those parts and have a bit of a European run before he'd get serious interest

To be fair he's beaten Galatasaray, PAOK, Hertha Berlin and drew to Bilbao (last minute goal as well) - if any team at level such as ourselves had that sort of run in Europe, it would be applauded.

Also Reed at Southampton said he does that sort of thing so he's always got 6/7 managers ready for their next step.
