Very good game last night playing RB in 2-0 victory vs Strasbourg, moving Marseille into second spot of Ligue 1.

9 clearances, 6 headers won, 95% pass accuracy and a clean sheet.

Watched him yesterday, looked really solid, wins loads of headers and is super fast. Gets forward a lot from right back too.

Apparrently we have put a second bid €5m and again rejected according to a link on news now (I know its not the most reliable of places before anyone says anything)

according to the times we're more likely to sign him in the summer, which makes sense after Amartey's recent form and considering simpson is coming back soonish. Could this mean one of them two is likely to leave us in the summer?

Doubt it. Simpson is still a consistently good right back and Amartey has proven himself to be a decent understudy in at least two positions. Sure a new RB and our strengthened midfield options of Ndidi, Iborra, Silva, James, and King as well as perhaps Choudhary next season but it only takes a couple of injuries and a suspension or two before we really need him.

But where will amartey fit? people can't surely assume as a young player he's happy to play as a utility man for our team in the long haul, especially after recent performances where he's more than looked decent. IMO I can see Simpson perhaps being below requirements, but I suppose who knows really.

It may seem harsh, but I doubt Puel sees Simpson as the answer given our evolution in playing style.

Didn't mean to sound harsh, especially with what he's done for us. I just mean I think to evolve we need to definitely have more of an attacking threat from fullback, give opposing teams two issues to think about from the right side, which is turn can help out Riyad even more... if we somehow keep him lol
