12 league appearances for 461 minutes so not exactly a regular.

Needs to come here just so we can change the Kiki Dee lyrics below.

Star
That's what they call you
How long you've waited to get where you are
Star
That's what you wanted

This week hot shot. A video star

We are clearly after a lot of French League players, reminiscent of when we got Kante and Mahrez.

Prob more to do with the fact our manager is French this time round...

Panic buy? On the back of three consecutive clean sheets?

Now that we have Dragovic playing, and to a lesser extent now that we have some MF reinforcements, the defense is suddenly much improved. If we can get a handle on set pieces, our defense would immediately be top-5 in the league. If we are bidding for Bouna, he has a role to play and can likely contribute. I am hopeful to see a lot more of these types of moves, Puel leveraging his connections and familiarity with the league to scoop up some bargains who can help us win some games. Preferably with younger players than Bouna, but considering what Puel has done with this team of hoofers we cheer for, I am not going to guess at what he can make of this guy if we give him some time.

Don't care how good he is, what position he plays in or if he wants to come or not.  With a name like Bouna Sarr we need to get him in.  Come home Bouna you amazingly named, beautiful fvcker. X

Given his profile, Sarr does come across as a panic buy. He's a makeshift right-back and a rather odd transfer target at age 25. Wonder what it is that we see in him. We already have way too many attackers and right-wingers in our squad. And he's definitely no patch on Mahrez.

I'm also concerned about the one-dimensional approach to our scouting, as we're linked with a lot of players from Africa or French players with African descent that may be eligible to play for their parents' country of origin at some stage (Sarr holds a Malian passport), which - despite the African Cup of Nations now being played in summer - in turn adds more problems with potential call-ups for international friendlies, U21 matches or tournaments. Also keep in mind that the 2020 World Cup is being played during the winter break, so there'll be a lot of congestion starting this autumn, leading all the way to spring 2020.

On face value it’s doesn’t look an inspiring signing. However Sarr has recently been converted to RB where he’s improved, you never know. The reactions from some of the Marseille fans are quite amusing, not happy with our low balling...

The general consensus among Marseille fans is that they were all happy to see the back of Sarr last summer, some even saying they would've let him go for free, he was that unconvincing.

Apparently, he's doing quite a decent job at right-back at the moment, surprising everyone, even though he's a winger. He's agile, speedy and allegedly great at heading.

Puel isn't liked amongst most Marseille supporters and they usually jokingly insist he'll have to pay twice the actual value of any OM player.

More info in this OM thread (the discussion on Sarr starts at the bottom of page 686):

https://forum.lephoceen.fr/threads/mercato-hivernal-2018-transferts-rumeurs-et-suggestions.76335/page-686

They want at least 10 million Euro for Sarr.

Seems like we're trying to implement a more attacking style under Puel in the near future, with wing-backs supporting our wingers up front.
