How does his ‘Hoofing’ completion stats stand up compared with Simmo and Big Wes?

Probably because of the percentagef his passes that are simple, unchallenged ones - like back to Morgan or Schmeichel.

What does the fee have to do with the guys ability?

Nothing really, I just like to weigh with a meaningless, under informed comment every so often. Makes me feel like I belong... ;)

Given his profile, Sarr does come across as a panic buy. He's a makeshift right-back and a rather odd transfer target at age 25. Wonder what it is that we see in him. We already have way too many attackers and right-wingers in our squad. And he's definitely no patch on Mahrez.

I'm also concerned about the one-dimensional approach to our scouting, as we're linked with a lot of players from Africa or French players with African descent that may be eligible to play for their parents' country of origin at some stage (Sarr holds a Malian passport), which - despite the African Cup of Nations now being played in summer - in turn adds more problems with potential call-ups for international friendlies, U21 matches or tournaments. Also keep in mind that the 2020 World Cup is being played during the winter break, so there'll be a lot of congestion starting this autumn, leading all the way to spring 2020.

Cool, we are seeing the same thing very differently, no big deal. If anything, I think we've widened our approach to recruiting. Since we added Macia in September 2016, our recruiting has been fire, adding Ndidi, Maguire, Iborra, Silva, and Dragovic all in Macia's first year. Now we've added Puel, who has specific knowledge of certain players who can be had for cheap in France, and we are moving to scoop them up. A player like Sarr is tough to learn about, there aren't the wealth of videos of a player like Slimani or Mahrez, but based on his positions, he is more likely a MF in Puel's system than a RB, though he could certainly play as a back-up RB -- maybe we also like him for his potential to play as a wingback. From what I can find/read/see, he looks like he enjoys having the ball at his feet, he can defend, and Puel likely believes that he can play a role on the team once Puel has him with the team for some time. I wouldn't be looking at him as a finished product, and if he winds up a Marc Albrighton type with superior speed, I am good with that. I think the key thing to remember is Puel fancies himself a teacher, so a guy like this I wouldn't think of as a finished product.

Sure, it is easy to talk yourself into a new player, but realistically, he is cheap, and if Puel wants him, eh, I'm all for keeping Puel happy at this point, guy is doing an amazing job in my book, our players look night and day different in terms of ability on the ball and confidence with the ball, and he hasn't even been here 3 months yet.

Just remember there’s been a plethora of players that were you tube sensations.... that turned it to be shit. Two minute clips of skipping past players mean **** all.... Slimani looks like a demon on his YouTube video...

Plus players in France outside the ‘top’ erm one ....two is you want to count Monaco, tend to be cheaper... their market isn’t the best at the moment.

I knew you’d find a couple of examples ..   but under 6 ft does sound a bit short for me for a centre back ...

Anyone suggesting this could be a Mahrez replacement, err no

This might be the worst highlights video ever made.

Vincent Koziello, who's three years younger and a bigger prospect than Sarr in any aspect, goes to 1. FC Köln for 3 million Euro (£2.6m) - and Marseille want about twice that amount for Sarr.

Premier League logic.

In fairness, Mousa looked very good in his YouTube video... this guy doesn’t so that probably means he could be quite good

Could turn out to be true.

Seriously though, if that's the best what YouTube could do with him then he can stay in Marseilles for all I care. I read that he was originally a winger who turned to a rightback (no wonder when you look at the vid) but even then I'd take Simpson or Amartey over him any day.

Sure not much to see to pass a definitive judgement, but I can prevent myself to think he'd be a dreadful signing.

Don’t blame you one bit. Personally I have given up trying to work out if someone would be a good signing or not... had some gems, had some stinkers recently. I think he could be a good wing back with the pace to get forward and that’s the only thing that Simpson can’t offer us. I don’t see he would be a regular here so maybe a decent understudy and maybe he is an option to us in case Amartey wants to leave for regular first team football...

Watching him play v Strasbourg on BT Sport.  Certainly not in the Leicester mould. But then he suddenly makes a blistering run and good cross. Think jury is out

I can't believe they've let him go for that price and why weren't we in for him? One of Puel's ex players!!!

This video is a joke.. They compiled his worst shots

You can have a fail compilation of Ronaldo and Messi and they can look mediocre if you want to portray them as such.

after like i can read here, bouna's not a middfielder, he 's a defensive player

but one thing sure, he's a very good side defender

As soon as a PL club shows interest a potential fee will triple. Clubs know they can rip English clubs off
