Would definitely keep him. An excellent defensive right back for when we need one and a back up for RCB if needed. Be mad to lose a PL winner who’s always done his job excellently for us.

Simpson can leave as far as I'm concerned. I can't see him sitting quietly in reserve. He is one of the old guard who will probably start down tooling again if we make a slow start to the season. Not necessarily on the pitch this time but just in the squad generally.

One year left on his deal and second choice at best now.

 

He'd still be useful to the squad but any chance to get a transfer fee for him we would probably sell and go with Amartey or Albrighton to fill in for Pereira.

I do think that his days are numbered here, more in the fact that he doesn't possess the attributes for the style of football we aspire to play. I think we'll keep him around to see how Pereira fares defensively. It's good to have him as an option and given the bumper package Simpson is on, I doubt he'll mind one more year here even if it is as a squad player. He still has a few years left in him, but I think after next season, those will be in the Championship.

He isn't good enough on the ball to play that role IMO & his lack of mobility now would be an issue.
