Leeds for a gig on Tuesday any recommendations please?

MTWG is the man.

Whitelocks, Adelphi, Bankers Cat and the Grove are my only suggestions and they’re a bit surface level

So I mentioned I'm drinking more lager these days and enjoying Paulaner and Spatenbrau Helles. Any recommendations for similar beers would be nice considering I'm next to Beers of Europe in Norfolk so can source a lot of good stuff, just a complete novice when it comes to non ale.

Ayinger is my current fav.

Oh and anything by Rothaus.

Tegernseer, Augustiner, Rothaus as mentioned. Any classic German (particularly Bavarian) brewer you can’t really go wrong with

Honestly that place is absolute dreamland. Have you been? I loved it😂.

Make sure you get your hands on Paulaners Oktoberfest lager when that’s released late summer/autumn. Best beer I’ve ever tasted.

Hinckley LIDL still has the Genuine Czech Staro too atm.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I live just down the road and spend way too much money there. Usually ale but as mentioned have become much more of a lager drinker. Maybe the weather...

Yeah, BoE is excellent for helles selection. You're unlikely to miss, whatever you pick.

I'm personally a sucker for anything where the Bavarian flag is really prominent on the label.

Wish we had something similar to the German Purity Law.

Drinking in Germany is so good. Your comment has prompted me to aim for a Bundesliga game next season around Jan/feb time

Get yourself to Bochum, Grobs!

Great beer there, plenty of nearby groundhopping, and just up the road from Düsseldorf and Cologne - both with their own distinctive beer and pub cultures.

British beers need more regional/city flags and crests on.

I would definitely like to do that, I know someone who goes with other city fans. I saw they have a friendly v Sheff U on sat 1 aug which hasn't been ruled out as a trip yet

What I would say is this will likely only have around 4k there and maybe even no terrace open. I would suggest going for a league game to get the full experience.
