Behave.

I get that it's not cool to speak ill of the dead, but this revisionist history that occurs every time someone dies makes me cringe.

Have to disagree. He might not have been that funny, but his 5 hour plus shows were legendary in the business. It was a standing joke that the stage manager would chuck the keys on stage and eff off home.

When I worked at DMH, the scramble to avoid that shift was worthy of the finest Ealing comedy! lol

His fans used to bring blankets and sandwiches...

So he was a bore with stamina.

How does that qualify him as a comedy legend?

Tax dodger. Sorry

That was about 20% of his act, with another 50% being the stamina needed by him and the audience, to survive his shows.

There was a comedian on 5Live said he watched the first hour of one show, went off to watch a Champions League game, then went and had a curry, then came back to watch the last hour of Doddy. :D

It is not a set in stone concept, he can be a legend to me and not to you. If you don't have a blue rinse, a blanket and sandwiches, then you weren't his target audience (towards the end anyway).

He was a link to very different world, his act was almost music hall, and he was a legend in the business.

You know, I just read a book about Stockholm Syndrome - it started off badly, but by the end I quite liked it. lol

“The man who invented cats' eyes got the idea when he saw the eyes of a cat in his headlights. If the cat had been going the other way, he would have invented the pencil sharpener.”

He had clearly never tried shoving a pencil up a cat's arse cause believe you me it doesn't end well.
