Should invest in finishing, ideally, second to fourth place, but not spending too heavily on players that would help meet this objective.

Not sure about that but this place is consistent. Every player is either God shite god or Shite god shite. Even the god that was Andy King is now shite as far as some are concerned.

And yes before someone goes dragging up some out of context comment. Yes I think Mahrez is a cvnt but that has nothing to do with his football. As a player I support him as a person with his attitude he's a waste of space.

By my calculations we’ve had 4 transfer windows since we won the league, signed numerous players and yet only 2 have definitely been a success (Ndidi and Maguire) Others look promising such as Diabate, Iborra, Slim,Nacho at times and Silva but cannot as yet hold down a regular first team spot, it’s worrying and has been mentioned numerous times before those responsible for our transfer dealings are proving themselves quite inept at finding players who will fit into our first team, and yet here we are again hoping that they’ll find us a good RB or a number 10 (again) we need first team players, not squad players, if Mahrez goes they’ll have more money to spend, I just hope they don’t squander it.

This transfer window is starting to worry me. I assume that Mahrez will go, but if we don't look like we're building for success we also risk losing Maguire, Ndidi &/or Vardy - or at least having them unsettled.

I'd like to see us making 1-2 good new signings early in the window to demonstrate ambition and to keep those 3 players on board (Mahrez, too, if possible, but I assume it's not).

Definitely sign Drago, if he still wants to stay - hopefuly he will, as he'll know that Huth & Benny will probably leave and Wes probably hasn't long left....maybe start Drago ahead of Wes in August.

Other signings will depend partly on what formations Claude plans to deploy (I'd like him to cater for 3-5-2 / 3-5-1-1, not just 4 at back) - and on whether we qualify for Europa League.

If we do make it into Europe, I'd want us to have a deep enough squad to compete seriously in Europe without ending up struggling in the league.

Tend to agree with Babs that Chilwell deserves a bit longer to prove himself (say, till January). Kasper will bounce back. Gray is the one I've lost patience with.

I can only see Iheanacho as a possible replacement for Vardy, not a 2nd striker. Cannot have too large an influx, so would take Ulloa back as alternative bench option (Slimani needs to move on permanently for 1st team football).

So, as a minimum, I'd be looking for us to acquire:

- 1st choice footballing right-back/wing-back;

- 2nd choice LB if Fuchs leaves;

- Drago + another tough centre back capable of passing;

- a creative central midfielder to compete with/complement Iborra, Silva & Ndidi;

- creative, goalscoring attacking midfielder/No.10;

- 2 wingers to replace Mahrez & Gray (unless Claude is very confident that Diabaté can be a regular starter - might take another year, I reckon).

- Might need 2-3 extra squad players if we're in Europe, either from youth team or experienced but cheap players content to be squad players only.

Ulloa ? Really. Surely that is a step back. Our ambitions must be higher.....

Only as a back-up bench option. I'm imagining Vardy as lead striker, with Iheanacho main alternative to him, then a new No. 10 or Okazaki behind them.

Ulloa is a good option as a late sub: a different sort of striker with threat in the air if we're going more direct to claw back a 1-goal deficit. But he's also good if holding a narrow lead: holds ball up well in attack, good at defending aerial set pieces.

I think we need another striking option apart from Vardy & Iheanacho, a different sort of striker. I cannot see Slimani or Musa fitting in - and it's asking for trouble to try to sign too many new players.

I'm already targeting about 6-8 new signings in my list and wouldn't want to add another one.

All just opinions, anyway, and I presume Leo will probably stay as back-up at Brighton. We might have more trouble moving Slimani on if he doesn't get a few games for Newcastle this season.
