Off the top of my head all count as home-grown.

U21 players don't need to be registered so if Barnes, Hughes, Choudhury or any other youth product plays more this season, it'll free up a space for a foreign player.

Cheers Stan,

I was just thinking that if this year we remove say Hamer King and James which leaves us with around 8 and next year we move on Morgan Simpson should we in this transfer window just be keeping tabs on acquiring somebody say like Patrick Roberts who would count presumably as home grown just to be on the right side of things but it’s perhaps not as bigger consideration looking at the numbers.

But by that time, if Choudhury, Barnes and Hughes have made the step up, that would make up the numbers for those 3 who may leave. I don't think we'll envisage any problems unless we don't buy any British players for the next few years at all :)

Would I be right in saying that Vardy does not count as home grown as he was not trained at Sheff Wed for three years before 21?

but he's home-grown in the sense that he was trained in this country, regardless of club. As opposed to being brought from a foreign country at 19 in which case he'd only have 2 years training before turning 21.

Barnes

Choudhury

Chilwell

Hughes

Dewsbury-Hall (perhaps or at least another u23)

We've got five from our youth team alone. That young Danish keeper will soon add himself as our sixth.

Gray

Maguire

Albrighton

Vardy

Hamer

Iheanacho (birthday in October and joined Man City in January 2014 apparently)

Schmeichel

We're on twelve including the above.

Morgan

Simpson

James

King

And then sixteen with some players who may or may not stay around for too long.

Iheanacho is a good shout. He's home-grown as he was 17 when he joined Man City in January 2014.

Whoscored claims he joined in 2015 but that's perhaps just the first season he played in. I guess he was on their books earlier?
