Whilst the likes of Peter Taylor still manages to get jobs there is hope for anyone.

I am a weird one,I actually thought he was/is a good coach and has made a few good decisions with his coaching head...

Ie Beckam England captain. Has a club manager at PL level, probably a  decision too far...There has been many "good-names"

Who haven't made the PL grade....Taylors problem he failed with us when he couldn't control the changing room, and totally lost it.

Holloway, I liked him,but he had injuries at awkward times....The squad just lost it....it should never have come down to the last games..

But both go down in infamy in Leicester history....

McClaren is probably a good coach but a poor motivator when it comes to managing, I seem to remember when he was England boss lot of players were referring to him as "Stevie" instead of "gaffer" or "boss", cause he'd been part of Sven's coaching staff prior, at lot of players still seen him as the coach still rather than the main manager.

He didn't help himself there though. I'm pretty sure I remember an interview where he referred to players as Stevie G and Lamps. Once you have the top job you have to distance yourself from that so you retain some authority when needed.

I seem to remember Ferguson also saying something along the lines of 'He's a great coach but not manager material'. I can't quite remember if that was about McClaren but I think it was, may have been someone else.

Yeah can remember Fergie saying that, suppose you could say the same happened to Shakey when he got the top job here.

Portsmouth are also still paying the price for the Redknapp years.

Yep. Not sure what the opposite of rough diamond is, but that's what Redknapp has proved to be. Smooth but ultimately worthless.

Holloway though my memory is a little hazy now took us to Stoke on the final day and played for a draw, got a draw and we were relegated!
