Saturday was a sickener.
didn’t see the game yesterday but well beaten. Interesting to see what happens with this team in the off season.

Hopefully a complete re build. Had high hopes for Allen but he’s an unsavoury character and while he gets you points on the board, I don’t he helps you play team ball.

Been crying out for a reliable rebounder for three years now.

What’s going on with the league license being revoked?

financial problems with the BBL.  They are hoping an alternative entity emergence’s to ensure professional basketball stays in England.

Russell Levinson, a big part behind the scenes has left at Riders.

Lots of rumours he may be an interim league director - British Basketball have confirmed they are working on getting an 'interim' pro league together with other parties. They have had no contact from 777.

It looks like we have a league for next season. No one really knows what it looks like.

Rumours of Forest Basketball too

Such a sorry state of affairs across British basketball

Not been following riders for long (daughter has got into it). Can’t believe the change in the squad in the last two seasons and of course the issues with the league

I did see a comment from someone I know who had been going for years about changes. Guess this was a big one. Bit of a leap from free to £15 isn’t it

Decent result. Some of the new players look decent

very Flat atmosphere and a lot of people not too happy. The guy who commentates wasn’t doing it and someone told me it’s because people are not getting paid / on time

parking gone from free to £15

Food and drink prices up in general

kids chuck a duck doubled in price

I’d be surprised if it was payment issues given the hype of the last week within the new league.

However Russell Levenson left in the off season who was a huge part of the organisation

Started the season well.

Only caveat to that is I think the South Section of the Trophy is weaker.

Think their challengers for the league will be Cheshire alongside Caledonia (who playing European basketball at the moment)

Interested to see how London Lions progress. They've had a significant budget reduction but they still have a decent roster for British basketball.

Huge game on Friday v London Lions. While Great Britain qualified for EUrobasket and look the best they have for a while with a full roster playing abroad including Ellis Quinn who is a superb prospect.

However, the league is at crisis point again.

The director of the league whom owns Sheffield Sharks accused the referees of racism towards his head coach. For the refs went on strike for a week and they have Canadian refs doing Sheffield games for the foreseeable future.

At the same time, Basketball England (ie the FA) have taken the licence away from the clubs who running the existing league and have announced plans to start a new league from 26/27 with £15m American investments. It would bring around the third round of mysterious American investment.

This is to the back ground of NBA now sniffing around Europe into creating their own league. Taking away some of Euroleague's strongest clubs and introducing Manchester City Basket etc. This is copying something they did in Africa but would cause a huge problem in Europe. Euroleague is one of European sports greatest spectacles and it's a real shame more don't see the scenes from the Belgrade, Athens derbies or Basket El Classico.

Opposite side of the ring road there are a few streets before you get into St Mathews

Easy parking. Was a lot of fun, my first match. Decent entertainment for a tenner
