Absolutely needs to change. Hadn't even thought of it,  It's my phone ring tone, changing that.

Yep I changed mine last night until I seen this thread I hadn’t even thought of it I’ve had my phone on silent for the last few days so the thought obviously never crossed my mind

Didn't even think about it but the music video is even worse in terms of imagery.

I think the appropriate thing to do is have Kasabian make a new song just for the goal scoring.  They are one of our biggest supporters so they shouldn't be penalized for something that was out of everybody's control.

Ridiculous that this is even a thing.

As I said in another thread, the English language is an adaptable and flexible tool and words have several meanings.

Certainly that song isn't talking about being physically on fire but, even if it were, where does it stop?!

Singing that Vardy's on fire? You can't say that to talk about his form.

Flame-grilled burger on the concourse menu or in the restaurant? Scrap that.

Opposition teams chanting about building a bonfire whilst in our stadium? Ban them all for life.

Tragic incident. Horrible way to go. No need to find fault or hidden meaning in everything.

Has anyone made the club that Ring Of Fire shouldn't be chanted in the stadium? It would sound awful after this tragedy

Going a bit OTT here mate.

It’s not for you to decide what other people find inappropriate.

I wouldn't go OTT over this, one way or the other.

It's just a bit of a song called 'fire'.   It's not celebrating crashing aeroplanes, or anything like that.

I don't like goal celebration music in general.   But if there's any, then a bit by Kasabian seems ok to me.

It sings I'm on fire. You just can't have that playing under the circumstances, you just can't.

Because people don't understand metaphors?

I kind of get it and I kind of don't. Same as when the players didn't fly to the Cardiff game as a mark of respect, but then immediately flew to Thailand :dunno:

There has to be a cut off point somewhere or you're forever tiptoeing on egg shells.

Valid point. I know it's a metaphor, but it still just doesn't sit well, the wording is just a bit too close to home just now.

I do get what you're saying though and Vichai definitely wouldn't want us to mourn and standstill.
