I caught Stringer's broadcast from Thailand and it seemed to be more about him than anything else, even down to his travel plans for returning to the UK.

The one on Radio Leicester this morning? i heard that too. How he manages to constantly turn this tragedy into the Ian Stringer show amazes me!

It’s been interesting to read the post from @Buce (certainly a brave post) and the comebacks from others, most of whom disagree.

It’s easy to judge, we all do it at times, and it’s also easy to misinterpret either way. Who knows the real heart of anyone at times?

What I would say is I’ve had to examine my own emotions a fair bit, to try and express them in a non-selfish way. Last week at Cardiff I felt a sense of belonging as a fan that I have never experienced before. It felt good no doubt.

This has happened a fair few times. At the ground, travelling to Cardiff last week, and listening to the media coverage. But I’ve had to keep reminding myself that people have died and their families are the true hurting ones here!

We didn’t know those who died personally, although it FEELS very personal.

Lots of fans (just my opinion) have got on the bandwagon with this as well, finding a kind of identity in grief.

I’m sure for all of us, our grief has at least a small part of self-centredness in it.

But I think the media coverage has been fantastic, truly poignant.

Things will get back to normal at some point, they have to. But when they do, hopefully this whole tragedy will make us realise what’s really important in life, and change us into better people.

I’m with Buce on this. I listened to his report from Thailand on Thursday’s bootroom.

There was a bit where he described talking to Top at the temple out in Thailand and the gist of it was “ I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine and he just knew ..... “

It seems like he always has to be centre stage.

Too much Me Myself I for my personal taste.

He just can’t help himself.

I agree regarding Stringer at times making this about himself.

I struggle between thinking it's possibly unintentional to remembering that this is a man who went on The Apprentice to try and find fame and who has previously been a less than helpful influence in and around the football club in pursuit of his own profile.

It's been a bit too much for me. A bit too in your face grief for a man he didn't really know personally. The cynic in me questions whether he's seen this as a chance to gain some kind of recognition for his reporting as opposed to those more seasoned professionals like Geoff and Rob Dorsett who have simply done their job with professionalism as they're not after that.

But then I've observed a lot of melodramatic reaction to this tragedy which has been borderline OTT at times. I think there are more factors at play here; people's previous grief resurfacing and being projected onto this event and the amplification of emotions because of that incredible high a couple of years ago.

Maybe Stringer's just a very public example of that kind of person/reaction?
