The Foxes - nickname change?

Nobody has actually been offended by anything yet, people getting offended on behalf of people that get offended on the behalf of others ffs

I was agreeing with comments about fans not referring to us as the foxes and it is a media thing.

Then I looked at our user names - even in this very thread. Even the forums name....

Exactly. We may not refer to the club as "The Foxes" but we certainly use "Fox" to refer to ourselves or other fans.

I think we should call ourselves "the bin dippers" in mock irony to our good Forest friends up the road.

 

One of the earlier posts had it spot on.   Seriously ... when have you ever heard anyone with more than a few brain cells say "I'm off to watch the foxes" ?

 

We will always be "The City".   As opposed to "The Tigers", "The County", "The Lions", "The Riders", or whatever.   Nothing outside Leicester matters!

Liking the replies to this thread ? Just for clarity we were nicknamed the foxes due to the heritage of fox hunting, it does seem to have morphed a bit into us being the fox (foxes never quit) and not for the last 135 years only since the 50’s 60’s so it’s not that unthinkable we may one day throw it aside ? blooming vegans with their electric / hybrid cars ?
