Bayfox Posted 7 January 2019 Posted 7 January 2019 Pearson treated the cups with a little distain as well. However he was clearly told we needed promotion and then to stay up. This time unless the owners have told Claude league position is priorty then it's plain wrong. We aren't going down So try to win something. People remember finals, medals etc. Not 7th or 12th.

Flying 7,000 miles to a game I'm guessing they want to be entertained and see us win every game It's incredible that you know exactly what our owners want, and how they run their club. Vichai was very hands on, and if owners are happy giving expectations on where to finish in the PL, I see no reason why they wouldn't be involved in making decisions about which competitions to prioritise. Still, there's prioritising, and not taking seriously, which I think Puel is guilty of this time around.

Didnt we lose to Hartlepool under Pearson in a micky mouse cup final played at Wembley entry restricted to leagues below championship

But I guess he would argue that getting straight back up was key.

Think hartlepool was actually a league cup tie to be fair. After we had just lost at Brighton I think. We lost to Rotherham in the Johnstone paint I think. And it was further into competition than 1st round.
Dan Posted 7 January 2019 Posted 7 January 2019 We lost at Rotherham in the JPT. I really didn't care about that though. That is genuine mickey mouse rubbish, only slightly more important than friendlies.

TBF that is probably the one that sticks out, Probably also underlines the importance of momentum and sticking with a settled side.
