Only the 53 appearances.

Riyad has 35 this year and its February.

Jokes aside, you and I both know there's a difference between "appearances" and starting.

Bernardo Silva was slowly integrated in to Pep's starting eleven over time and even his stars have to deal with some time being sidelined, it's just how he works.

Football fans do not exist to think about what is best for the player, just what is best for themselves and the club they support.

Some fans get far too attached to players.

So fans can’t connect with players, or at least try to understand them on a human level? After everything Riyad did for us I’m desperate for him to succeed at City, he deserves it.

Of course you do, it's Sport, you remember your greats. Older people on here still talk about McAllister, Lineker, Weller etc and for me at my age, though I do respect the greats that have played for us (and we have had a fair few), it'll always be Izzet, Mahrez, Vardy I talk about.

In 50 years time if I'm here and talking about our top flight winning side the first three names I'll mention will be Mahrez, Vardy and Kante.

I'm delighted that I got to see Mahrez (and Kante) play for our club.
