Yeah as @nettle said it wasn't intensity it was length. Sessions the day before games were apparently long, dull and boring.
l444ry Posted 1 March 2019 Posted 1 March 2019 That the training regime is massively important goes without saying. However some of the *fittest* of players come across as slower/lazier than others on matchday because they lack the heart and passion that the game demands.. Could anyone ever imagine Nacho pulling off Hamza's tackle on Mane against Liverpool?
dyanmark Posted 1 March 2019 Posted 1 March 2019 Be nice to assume players at this level can run about and play a bit of football.Surely it s all about the detail in attack and defence,Take a lad like Gray fast and fit as heck but needs to improve his concentration and application. Please note I have not used any words ending in eeeee

Analysethis Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 Its difficult to judge how fit we are or arent to be honest, mainly because we seem to lack energy early in the game, dont play with a high press and hunt in packs like the fittest teams in the league and end up relying on individuals making runs which is largely why Vardy hasnt got much support at times. We have young players who should have the stamina and energy or at least be easier to train that into and I would like to see our side run from the first whistle to the last and play to a system that suits there abilities. 3 of our 4 first team defenders can run with the ball at their feet and the other Evans isnt a total slouch himself so lets see if BR can get the lads playing to a system that suits. Claude couldnt!
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 Shakespeare said publicly that when Ranieri was first appointed, he wanted to change the training methods but he told him to assess the first few sessions and see how hard they work when they are short sharp sessions. The training under Puel from what you hear / read were long, dull sessions that lacked any intensity which certainly rubbed off on the pitch. Really looking forwards to tomorrow to see how we line up and the style of play we try and implement.
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 2 March 2019 Posted 2 March 2019 Training sessions were not inspiring the players under CP, they found them dull and draining.
