It's quite often not done until at least September, not long after the transfer window closes and you're already 5 or so games into the season. It's only in the last year that it's closed this early. 

 

Sadly this will be the first one without Vichai.

Weren't they doing some media photoshoots last week, I guess that could include official photos. Would be normal to do it all in pre-season though.

They had a ‘media day’ at the training ground which is when they do all the shooting against green screens for lineups, celebration gifs and shots of Allardyce looking like he’s trying to decide what he wants at the chip shop:

 

 

The team photo is done at the stadium on a separate day.
