We've just been beaten by European champions who pitch invade a league cup semi . What a strange day.

Life's good.

Nothing wrong with a pitch invasion they've shown a bit of passion in my eyes can't imagine our fans doing that unlike the good old days, used to love a good pitch invasion.

Maybe a few years back - now it's just an excuse for every idiot in that stadium to go nuts.

Pitch invasions are less spontaneous, more regular and occur in some run of the mill games. Think Villa v WBA, FA Cup Q/Final

I don't think anybody wants to finish 3rd because they'll be able to celebrate exactly that... Its that it gives you champions league qualification. Think we have a few memories of the last time we qualified for that right!?

We most certainly do, and 3rd is a great achievement. However, for me, finishing 3rd wouldn’t be as good a feeling as a cup final win.

So 24hrs ago you would have preferred winning the League Cup over finishing in the top 4, or even 6? I hate that argument sort of argument admittedly,  but we can win a cup any season. Seasons where we can break into the top 4 and play the worlds best the following season don't come around every season.

The season is full of highs and lows, last night was undoubtedly a low for us. We can all see that we haven't turned up on many occasions when it mattered, last night included.

That said to condemn this bunch of players based on a loose month or so when 3rd in the league and destined to play in the CL next season is madness. I trust Brendan, and only see us improving having learnt a lesson. Its just unusual for us, as we have for as long as I can remember relied on the strength and battling qualities and usually had that. Right now that is an area of concern, but we have skill,  and ability in abundance.

So let's move on from last night, learn from it, and get in the quarters of the FA cup and see what happens!

Our players do tend to freeze on the big occasion not many of them have experienced big games, so that’s to be expected, but you would hope they would learn from this type of game mentality wise. That you have to be on it for the full 90 minutes.

Apart from Vardy at the world cup, who had an 8 minute cameo at the end of game where we were already beaten, and Evans at UTD not one member of that side last night has ever experienced what it takes to play in a semi final of a major cup competition. It is easy for fans to say that they should toughen up etc etc but unless you have been in that situation you have no idea of the stress. When we are on song it is clear that we play with the carefree ease of young confident players, but under pressure there seems to be players with one eye on not making a mistake which can then restrict their belief in their own ability to try things.

The next few games will be a measure of where we are at as a side with lofty ambitions. Do we wallow in disappointment, self pity and doubt, or can they put it behind them and use it as a spring board to show that last night was just what it was, a tough game against an organised side who had a goalkeeper who was MOTM over two games, pulling off world class saves (how he got a fingertip to Youris shot I still have no idea, I had started celebrating as soon as it left his boot and could not believe that Nyland had somehow pushed it onto the bar).

I think Villa went into the game as underdogs and as such could just go for it whereas the pressure of expectation got to some of our young side. Now is the time for the coaching staff, and senior players to lead from the front. Lets not forget, however disappointed some of these youngsters are, they are likely to get other chances.

If the season ends with us qualifying for Europe, a league cup semi and a decent FA run (**** it lets go win the thing) achieved with a record number of back to back wins in the top flight, a record away win of all time in the top flight and a record equalling PL winning margin (hopefully add Vardy wining golden boot to that list) we should be over the moon when you consider where we were just 12 months ago, dreaming of such things whilst stuck in a cycle of mediocrity.

Please let us not descend into whingeing entitled snowflakes (like spurs/arsenal fans) just because we lost a game or two. Be thankful that you are alive and a foxes fan at his time. I have never felt so excited about a Leicester team as this one since the Bloomfield era of Worthington, Weller, Birch, etc.
