I absolutely hate BGT. It's bloody awful. My wife and daughter love it and watch it religiously. I experience actual physical pain watching some of these 'acts'.

RvN is on next week doing an impression of a football manager.

I'm banned from the general news thread and it seems I'm not allowed to talk about the Middle East genocide but man, Israel are inflicting totally unchecked torture and slow death by starvation, alongside the usual bombing/shooting.

Next to no news channels are reporting on it. World leaders are ignoring it.

Aid workers reporting that it's the worst they've seen (and they've worked in places like CAR, Sudan, Yemen etc.)

Devastating.

Israel always gets a free pass. Absolutely morally indefensible.

I'm really pleased for Harry Kane that he now has a winners medal. Seems like a good bloke to me and I'm pleased that he finally has something to show for what's been a really good career.

Feel like I'm one of the few that is actually glad the UEL final is Man Utd v Spurs.

This season has been bloody miserable for us, the Premier League has been tedious and predictable, and my simple brain really only likes matches with real jeopardy these days.

Both teams have had pathetic 24/25 and their entire season rests on this match. It's the only way they can be saved from the ignominy of a lower bottom half finish and no trophy and no Europe with the expectations they have on them.

It all rests on this 90 (120 + pens) minutes and frankly I'm really looking forward to it.

I am actually glad of it as well, will be a funny game either way.

But the prem has been predictable!?!? Not heard that one. What has been predictable, other than Arsenal finishing second. Liverpool won it, Man City are in a top 4 race alongside Forest, Man U and Spurs are in 15th and 16th!!!! Bournemouth are 8th and smashing it playing crazy football. Thankfully it's been a lot of fun, takes away from checking where city are in the table.

People just like moaning about the PL. The stated preference is people want jeopardy at the top of the table but if Man City won in a close title race vs Arsenal or Liverpool, the very same would whinge about it.

It's not a memorable title fight or relegation battle but like you said, the churn between 3rd-16th has been really interesting. The quality of the median PL side now is so high they can usurp atrophied big sides.

Ha, looking unlikely Arsenal will finish 2nd now.  Think we  may have to beat Southampton to guarantee top 5. Hopefully, they will have got to12 points before we play them and will be on that sandy beach!

Yeh probably right. Gary Neville has influenced a lot of people like Farage/Trump in the sense that his ramblings are now adopted by the man on the street. Remember him going on about 'robotic football' in the premier league and then every f4cker was parroting that line. These people wouldn't have a clue that a team like Wolves won 6 in a row or how they play.

Christ, just checked the table, I had no idea. And you play Newcastle next week. Huge game that

Next season you'd expect Spurs and United to improve, Wolves look genuinely good under Pereira, it's only West Ham I don't really rate going into next season. There'll be about 16 good teams in the PL and this is somehow a bad thing? The median side has gotten smart; it's such a high quality league and finally befitting of all the money spent relative to comparable Spanish or German clubs.

I was looking forward to telling you all that I would be on TV on May 26, but the stupid arses didn't budget properly for having to pay people to do their job

Are you allowed to tell us what programme you were going to be on?

Springwatch, believe it or not.

How interesting, are you allowed to elaborate?

Yes. They got in touch with a guy I work for, wanting musicians to perform the theme music live.

My suspicion is that, as often happens, someone 'thought' they'd be able to get professional standard without paying for it. They hadn't budgeted for the reality.

Maybe they've blown the budget on Chris Packham's and Michaela Strachan's riders.

Maybe predictable was the wrong word. I guess I mean to say what I constitute as true jeopardy (title/relegation) has been long coming this season. Liverpool streaked clear and it became obvious around Xmas that the relegated teams would go down. Of course there's interest elsewhere (and as a child of the 90s/00s Man Utd being shit is never not fun) but if I'm going purely on those, it's hardly been a back-and-forth tussle.

Maybe, but I suspect it was more the 'We're based in London, these hicks will be grateful of the exposure.'

I know so many in my line of business who have been on the end of the 'we won't pay you but the exposure will be great for you' nonsense.
